off the top of my head an I5 should be sufficient.? (I'm not a
Windows person :-) ) When the issue occurs how busy is the FT8
frequency you are on?
I would use the performance monitor tool and see if the CPU's are
being used a lot.?? If so I would find out which apps are using
them and close them if you can.? Another possibility is that you
are using all of your memory and Windows is having to move the
applications data between RAM and disk.?
