Re: Fldigi and QMX successful???

Dan,

Rig control as TS-480 or TS-440 should work with flidgi standalone, but not transmitting digital modes unless you are using firmware 006 or earlier. Later Hamlib versions also define the QDX and QMX.

If you use flrig then the 2.0.02 version will have QMX and QDX rigs defined so it's simple to set up rig control. Flrig also gives you a slider to adjust the output volume into fldigi or any other software if the default settings are not what is needed at the moment.

For me the QMX does not work with fldigi if I use firmware beyond 006. What I see is that fldigi will transmit/Tune once then never again until I power cycle the QMX then it will transmit once and not again etc, etc. Using firmware 006 ?all works normally except if you are using Olivia mode. Then either Tune in that mode once or use another mode once then Olivia will work normally as all the other FSK modes, the same as the QDX. Hans knows about it, but at this point no solution has come forth. So I recommend you go back to firmware 006 if you wish to do digital modes with fldigi.

I find it odd, but it seems as the people on this forum don't use fldigi for digital modes, ?or at least they do not reply to my request for feedback. Maybe mine is an outlier, but I doubt it.

I'm just getting to wringing out the QMX after overcoming a few assembly issues.? It is NOT working here with fldigi 4.1.20 under Windows 10.?

Using flrig as a TS-480SAT, it's working fine with JS8Call.? Nothing particularly odd there that I haven't seen with the QDX.? Same setup with fldigi, I don't get sufficient audio out and, consequently, to power output.? On TX, the QMX's transmit indicator under the VFO indicator is two dots, indicating PTT activated and insufficient audio drive.? RX is good.

I've double checked audio device settings - they're the same here as with another rig with an internal, USB sound device - and twiddled Windows' exclusive access selections for sound devices to no effect.

Haven't figured it out, yet.? What are you seeing?
