The Operations and Management Directorate (OMD) provides corporate services to all SPC Divisions and Programmes. It consists of three key departments: Finance, Human Resources and Information Services. OMD is focused on improving the effectiveness of systems, policies and management to provide high-quality customer-oriented services. The Grants and Collaborations Team Leader will lead a small team that will work closely together in the Grants and Collaborations Team to ensure the effective and timely delivery of high-quality grant management services across SPC. This new role will be responsible for providing expert advice and support on complex grant-related activities, enhancing stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and understanding of grants management processes, and driving continuous improvements in grant systems and practices. The Team Leader will play a key role in fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that grant activities meet the standards expected by SPC and our funders and that align with SPC¡¯s strategic objectives. The key responsibilities of the role include: Operations: Grants and Collaborations Manage the grants and collaborations team to: achieve quality outcomes from grant and collaboration activities undertaken by SPC; deliver high quality support and advice; and harmonised and consistent service across SPC to the agreed service standards and in accordance with relevant SPC policies. Ensure quality customer service is provided to SPC¡¯s divisions undertaking grant and collaboration activities, and divisional relationships are maintained. Regularly prepare and present performance reports to internal and external stakeholders. Post-Award ¡¤ Oversee post-award activities, ensuring grants are delivered according to agreed timelines and standards. ¡¤ Oversee the monitoring, reporting, and closure processes for grants and LOAs awarded ensuring consistent services provided to Divisions across SPC in successfully implementing Grants and collaboration activities. ¡¤ Ensure that grant and collaboration capacity building and training support is provided across SPC and to its grant recipients. ¡¤ Support other areas as needed, including during the pre-award phase and in initiatives aimed at enhancing the performance of the grant awarding processes Advice and Guidance ¡¤ Offer expert guidance on the management of grants and collaborations, including best practices and compliance with SPC policies and international standards. ¡¤ Provide informed advice to decision-makers (including relevant committees) on complex grant and collaboration matters, ensuring that all stakeholders' requirements are considered to deliver value outcomes. ¡¤ Offer advice to decision-makers on managing ethical considerations in grant and collaboration activities, ensuring integrity and adherence to SPC¡¯s ethical standards. ¡¤ Identify potentia

Pacific Vacancies Announcement No. 2025/225 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Terms of Reference Expert in Adaptation and Private Sector Investment General Information Project: FJ09 Mainstreaming Adaptation Planning at the Local Level in Fiji Duty Station: Suva, Fiji Contract Duration: 15th May ¨C 31st December 2025 Number of Work Days Estimated (internal purpose only): 100 days Consultant Level: 5 Project background Fiji, as a Small Island Developing State (SIDS), faces extreme climate vulnerability. The country is already experiencing the negative impacts of climate change, through changing weather patterns, including droughts and flooding events, and increasingly damaging natural disasters. The current average asset losses due to tropical cyclones and floods are estimated at more than FJD 500 million per year, representing more than 5% of Fiji¡¯s GDP. Climate change will affect all areas of life for the people of Fiji, and the expected impacts include reduced agricultural and fisheries productivity, declining health outcomes, eroding shorelines and riverbanks, shortage of water and higher infrastructure costs. In tackling these challenges, which is a common concern in many developing economies, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) partners with countries, multilateral institutions, government bodies, and private sector to help grow robust economies that are more efficient and sustainable in the use of its natural resources, are less carbon intensive, and more resilient to climate change. Based in Seoul, GGGI is an intergovernmental organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth known as "green growth", which targets key aspects of economic performance such a poverty reduction, job creation, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. GGGI works with countries around the world, building their capacity and working collaboratively on green growth policies that can impact the lives of millions. Fiji became a member of GGGI in 2014, and the GGGI office in Fiji was established in 2015 in Suva and is based within the Ministry of Economy. GGGI is currently supporting the Climate Change and International Cooperation Division (CCICD) of the Ministry of Economy, which is Fiji¡¯s secretariat for the Nationally Designated Authority (NDA) to the Green Climate Fund (GCF), in the delivery of a GCF Readiness grant: ¡°Mainstreaming Adaptation Planning at the Local Level in Fiji¡±. This grant aims to improve the country¡¯s climate resiliency and facilitate implementation of the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) by mainstreaming adaptation at the local level focusing on four sectors: coastal resilience, resilient infrastructure including for water, coastal fisheries, and climate smart agriculture. This will be achieved through (1) strengthened inclusive adaptation planning governance and institutional coordination through development of guidance and indicators, capacity building and dissemination of information; (2) evidence-based design of local adaptation solutions for maximum impact through sector specific case studies and technical assessments; (3) private sector engagement in adaptation to increase capacity for project conceptualization and investment, (4) conceptualization, preparation of feasibility studies and proposal preparation to secure investment. Objectives of the assignment The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) seeks a qualified and experienced consultant specializing in climate adaptation and private sector investment to lead and support the development of investment strategies and training materials while fostering partnerships with private sector actors, government agencies, and community stakeholders. The consultant will support the implementation of key activities that assess the economic benefits of adaptation, develop case studies, formulate investment plans, and facilitate stakeholder dialogues to advance private sector investments in climate adaptation.
