PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Live & Learn Environmental Education seeks to recruit a Programme
Development Officer for the organisation's head office in Suva - Fiji.
Live & Learn Environmental Education Society is a regional non-government
organisation which aims to promote greater understanding of environmental
sustainability through education and communication.
The Programme Development Officer will be responsible for:
· development of funding proposals and securing funding for future Live &
Learn Environmental Educational programmes
· development of environmental educational programmes in collaboration with
government department and NGOs.
· overseeing organisational and administrative matters of the head office.
Selection Criteria:
· Minimum of five years experience in the field of environmental education,
preferably in developing countries.
· Broad background in environmental and development issues, especially
marine and forestry issues.
· Extensive experience of working in a consultative process with
communities, NGOs and governments.
· Computer literate, particularly Word, Excell, e-mail and presentation
programmes.
· Proven experience in development of proposals, budgets and successful
procurement of funds.
· Extensive experience at organisation administration including
responsibility for finance, budgeting and acquittals.
· Strongly motivated person with proven ability to work with minimal
supervision.
· Excellent communications skills, verbally and written. Ability to speak
Bislama or Solomon Islands Pidgin an advantage.
· Current clean drivers license.
The successful candidate must be willing to live in Suva with the
possibility of relocating to Honiara or Port Vila after one year. Extensive
travel will be required. Salary will be pro-rata in accordance to funds
sources by the PDO

Successful candidate will be required to start on the 1st of January 2000
and will start on a two year contract with an option to renew based upon
performance.
