The United Nations Development Programme's core mandate is to promote
sustainable human development and eradicate poverty.

UNDP world-wide is engaged in an extensive re-profiling of its Country
Offices to meet the objectives of its Business Plan. As a result, the
UNDP Fiji* Office seeks to recruit suitably qualified and experienced
nationals for the following positions:



Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships Officer


The Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships Officer will identify and
optimise the resources available for projects and programmes in the
Pacific by:
* Identifying and assessing fund availability
* Identifying potential partners
* Aligning funding options to project proposals (programming)
* Profiling donors
* Monitoring trends and events by donor
* Maintaining and complying with donor requirements, e.g.
agreements, reporting
* Coordinating / monitoring donor reporting
* Negotiating with donors

Competencies Required: Strategic Development, Promotion, Documentation,
Client Commitment, UNDP Awareness, Partnership Building, International
Focus, Relationship Building, Negotiation, Lateral Thinking, Legal
Compliance, Financial, Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Postgraduate degree with proven
experience in promotion, resource mobilisation and resource management

Level: ICS 9 - F$40,319 net p.a.



UN Resident Coordinator Support Analyst


The UN Resident Coordinator Support Analyst will provide support to the
UN Resident Coordinator in Suva, Fiji by:
* Promoting collaborative and integrated UN system programming
particularly with regard to poverty, gender and HIV/AIDS
* Following up on global UN conferences and the
Secretary-General's Programme of Reform
* Taking a leading role in UN system public information and
advocacy
* Coordinating joint UN system training

Competencies Required: Strategic Development, Promotion, Change
Management, Resourcing and Organising, Information Analysis, Systems and
Procedures, UNDP Awareness, Partnership Building, Quality Focus,
International Focus, Communication, Negotiation, Self Management,
Professional Strength, Socio-economic Awareness, Proficiency in
Microsoft Word and Excel

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: A postgraduate degree in
Economics, Social Sciences, Public or Business Administration or related
discipline with at least 3-5 years of experience in development-related
work at the national and/or regional levels. Candidates with a
Bachelor's degree in the above areas and proven experience in
development-related work will also be considered.

Level: ICS 9 - F$40,319 net p.a.


Thematic Analyst (Governance)

The Thematic Analyst will be part of the Thematic Team providing
professional support for programmes by providing a technical service for
the development, implementation, monitoring / evaluation of projects.
Key functions include the following:
* Research, analysis, promotion and advocacy in Governance
including providing policy advice, participating in the design of the
resource mobilisation strategy and participating in all country and
regional programming exercises
* Project proposal formulation including Project implementation
and monitoring
* Corporate support and representation including providing
technical input into UNDP administrative activities /reports, meetings
and functions

Competencies Required: Business Performance, Promotion, Planning,
Information Analysis, Documentation, Client Commitment, Quality Focus,
Team Orientation, Lateral Thinking, Professional Strength,
Socio-economic Awareness, Research, Proficiency in Microsoft Word and
Excel

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: A postgraduate degree in
Economics, Social Sciences, Public or Business Administration or related
discipline with at least 3-5 years of experience in development-related
work, preferably in Governance at the national and/or regional levels.
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in the above areas and proven
experience in governance-related work will also be considered.

Level: ICS 9 - F$40,319 net p.a.



Finance Team Leader


The Financial Team Leader will provide financial services to UNDP and
United Nations Agencies through an efficient and customer focused
finance team. The principal functions are:
* Manages an internal financial and budgetary strategy
* Monitors the Country Office Administrative costs
* Monitors the generation of extra-budgetary resources
* Supervises the office budgets execution and the office
accounting system
* Supervises and reviews the work of Finance - including Programme
Finance
* Ensures the quality and timeliness of Programme Finance
Information

Competencies Required: Business Performance, Risk Management, Planning,
Resourcing and Organising, Systems and Procedures, Client Commitment,
Quality Focus, Leadership, Facilitation, Team Orientation, Professional
Strength, Financial, Computer Applications

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Degree in Accounting and a
Chartered Accountant or a Masters Degree in a related discipline. At
least 5 years experience in the Finance field. Some experience in an
international organisation would be advantageous.

Level: ICS 9 - F$40,319 net p.a.



Country Regional Coordinator


The Country Coordinator provides support for the implementation of
in-country and regional projects / programmes by:
* Providing project and programme management support in project
monitoring evaluation, reporting and support services
* Coordinating activities of all units in Suva UNDP office in
response to country / regional programme- related matters
Key activities include:
- Project monitoring
- Budget monitoring
- Financial reporting
- Proposal support including participating in the formulation of
projects, compiling project/programme profiles and reports
- Country/Regional Programme coordination

Competencies Required: Computer Application, Business Performance, Risk
Management, Planning, Resourcing and Organising, Client commitment,
Quality Focus, Team Orientation, Financial

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: A degree in economics, finance or
associated field and / or at least 7 years relevant work experience.

Level: ICS 7 - F$27,186 net p.a.





Administration Team Leader


The Administration Team Leader will provide logistics and administration
services to UNDP and the UN Agencies through an efficient and focused
logistics and administration team. Key functions include the following:
* Administration Team Management
* Procurement services including management of assets
* Monitor Registry, Reception, Drivers and Systems applications
* Provide travel, transport, communication, and premises services
* Coordinate security services, permits, visas
* Conduct subsistence reviews

Competencies Required: Business Performance, Planning, Resourcing and
Organising, Computer Application, Documentation, Systems and Procedures,
Client Commitment, Quality Focus, Facilitation, Estimating and Tendering

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Degree in Administration or
Business and/or successful completion of secondary school with 7 years
proven experience in office management, administration and procurement.

Level: ICS 7 - F$27,186 net p.a.



Accountant & FIM Controller


The Accountant will ensure the day to day accounting service is carried
out with the overall work plan for the Finance Team by providing a
technical input in accounting and system utilization. Key activities
include the following:
* Work scheduling and Monitoring
* Provide Programme Finance accounting services including
financial management reports, reconciling financial statements,
maintenance of project ledgers
* Provide training in programme finance and National execution
procedures
* Provide financial input into management plans

Competencies Required: Business Performance, Risk Management, Planning,
Resourcing and Organising, Computer Application, Systems and Procedures,
Client Commitment, Quality Focus, Team Orientation, Professional
Strength, Financial

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Diploma or degree in accounting
and / or successful completion of secondary education with at least 7
years relevant work experience.

Level: ICS 7 - F$27,186 net p.a.


GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Successful candidates will
be based in Suva and may be required to travel on country programme
missions. Contract duration will vary from 1 to 2 years, with the
possibility of extensions dependant on performance and availability of
funds.

LANGUAGE: A high standard of spoken and written English
.
REMUNERATION: Remuneration is according to the UN salary scale. Various
other benefits, such as dependency allowances, medical, pension and
generous annual and sick leave apply.
