Opening Date:?April 18, 2001 Closing Date: May 17, 2001 ? Position and Salary: Instructor/Marine Science ? F-III/1-3 $ 16,146 – 17,810 PA Depending upon qualifications ? Location:?National Campus P.O. Box 159 Palikir, Pohnpei FM 96941 ? Duties: Teaches fifteen contact hours of marine science courses per semester. Advises students on academic and career choices. Works closely with students in a hands-on experiential oriented marine science program. Participates in college governance committees. Participates in job-related community activities. Develops/revises curriculum in science courses. Works closely with other faculty at the National Campus and at the State Campuses in maintaining high quality of instruction. ? Minimum Qualifications: Masters in Marine Biology, Oceanography, Fisheries, or related technical field. Training in teaching economically disadvantaged and academically poorly prepared students preferred. Training in teaching ESL student preferred. Full-time teaching at the post-secondary level for two years required. Teaching disadvantaged and under-prepared students in an ESL environment for at least two years preferred. Professional rescuers qualifications such as Emergency Response, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor, SCUBA certification, PADI Assistant Instructor/PADI OWSI/NAUI Skin Diving Instructor certifications are pluses. ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
