Position and Salary: Horticulture Researcher 12M-F/V $ 25,038- 27,612 PA

Depending upon Qualifications

Duties: Prioritize Yap research needs. Collaborate with COM/FSM on Regional Research project. Conduct practical research activities addressing Yap needs in Horticulture, Ornamental Agriculture, and other areas of need. Will conduct Hatch approved research and will teach college and extension courses on assigned FTE. Write research proposals. Plan, develop, and implement researches. Write grant proposals. Write research results in journals and publications. Share information with State and National governments. Write assigned reports. Maintain and submit accurate and systematic records and statistical information concerning the progress and accomplishment of programs. Teach college courses as assigned. Work with existing advisory committtees and established groups. Provide technical "know-how" to peers, communities, and who may be requesting. Implement and evaluate program in compliance with COM/COM-FSM CRE plans and projects. Maintain the cleanliness of office and lab space. Be responsible for equipment and tools that are for the Agriculture area at the college. Be responsible for the procurement of project supplies, equipment, and office needs according to established procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: PhD degree in Agriculture. Familiarity with USDA Federal programs preferred. Practical work experience. Experience and knowledge in Pacific governments and Agriculture programs preferred. Knowledge on Pacific Institutions such as Land Grant, SPC, ADAP colleges and universities, etc.
