Our group is rather on the small side: I funded the first few years, so we had FILES and PHOTO ALBUMS, etc.

We lost that when we went back to the FREE program.

I have several files you may be interested in: a spreadsheet I used to order my own standing and running rigging - based upon the rigging guide in the owners manual.

I will send you both!

I own a small rigging company and have a client who has a PS31.? I was searching for a rigging spec sheet but haven't been able to dig one up.? Mainly, I'm looking for lengths of running rigging so I don't have measure.? I came across this group and saw a file for a rigging and tuning file from March of '22 but whenever I click on the link it takes me to the home page.? Could you please upload the file or email me at wildchildm24@... please. Thanks

Re: Tuning and Rigging Guide

I’ll check my manual tomorrow and send a copy of running rigging specs if Daryl doesn’t have it readily available as well.

Best,

Hi Daryl,

One thing to watch out for is to be sure you have enough room between the side of the new alternator casing and the port side of the engine “box”.? It may not be an issue…but I don’t think there is a ton of spare room in that area.? Steve on Rafiki.?

Locked Re: DISCUSSION GROUP COSTS

Edited

I have down graded the group from PREMIUM services to FREE version. Did not get enough interest in group funding: and thus discussion group is just not as active as it could be….

I will keep it going as a free / no cost site. Any file and photo sharing will have to be done externally.

Yes, I think the best course is to change it to the free version; which eliminates files and photos, but no one seems to be taking advantage anyway.

Re: PSC 31 refurbishment

High density foam: I would touch base with Steve Brodie at the PSC factory - my first instinct would be no - due to compression; their pounds per meter is pretty low compared to density of marine plywood, if my math is correct?

Daryl

Re: PSC 31 refurbishment

Thanks for the feedback. I am considering Coosa blue water 26 composite and epoxy. Any opinions on using Coosa to rebuild the mast step?

Re: PSC 31 refurbishment

The mast step on Intuition, our 1990 Pacific Seacraft 31, was rebuily in 2017. There are 3 layers of fiberglass with marine plywood sandwitched between. The layer just beneath the deck layer of fiberglass came out like pulled pork!
See the photo section labeled mast step. We used a hole saw to pentrate the first layer of fiber glass; when we found the pulled pork, we completely removed the top skin and removed all the rotten wood. The second layer of plywood only had a small amount of rot and was easily cleaned out.
The plywood removed was replaced with G5 board and epoxy(so no more plywood directly underneath the mast step - the marina completed the project in about 4 days.

This problem was detecte when stepping the mast and rig tuning.

PSC 31 refurbishment

Hello - I am in the middle of refurbishing an 88’ PSC31.
This boat was a hurricane salvage so lots of projects ahead of us. Just finished up with topsides delamination project. Mast step moisture project next. Has anyone rebuilt their mast step? Interested in know what approach they took. Thanks Jay

I think for all of us in this group it would be great to see pics of the davits and how it works/looks with the 31.(when they are installed)
