BTW the PS 31 is not a Creelock model though it was designed by Bill Creelock. The Creelock models are canoe sterns?

Hi Stu,
Buy more chain. I carry 160ft of 5/16 plus 30ft of line at the end on my 31. I anchor 50-100 days per year and rarely use all the chain except in P-town this summer. For the most part, the chain falls in easily, but if I have more than 100ft out I bring a long screwdriver forward when retrieving.?
I also carry 150ft of line on the port side for emergency but have never used it in 33 years except as a dock line in Panama Canal.
And a stern anchor with 10ft chain and 150ft rose which I rarely use.

?¡°My¡± PSC 31 has 50¡¯ of chain and 150¡¯ of rode. ?I was wondering how best to deal with the rode in order for it to go down the hawse pipe in preparation for the gypsy to take up the chain. ?I doubt I would anchor often in more than 50¡¯, so I suppose I would manually take up the rode while guiding it down the pipe until I could get the chain started. ?Another option would be to get 200¡¯ of chain.
I welcome and thank you for your feedback.
