Thanks for pic Andre.

Was a good time and it was great to see everyone.? In the pic L to R (Keith's cousin (James?), Keith, Mick, Tom (Portland), me (Tom - midlman), Peter (Bremerton), Ken (porken), Michael (Benno), and Andre (the photographer, so not in this pic).? Also good to see Tom D and his Amazon Green Metallic GTS (also not in the pic).

Glad I was able to swing down, even in the scorching heat.? A/C in the triple black GT still blowing ice cubes (literally LOL, cranked up the fan and it blew out frost :D).? Going to have to adjust that freeze switch a bit.

Thanks again Keith for stepping up to host.?

And thanks to Mick for pushing to get this event to happen...? It takes persistence and devotion to get these events to happen.?

Let's see if we can get some more folks to step up and host something "928" So we all can pop out of our caves and into the 928.?

It's always great to talk 928's all day with like minded folks.

Cheers,

Tom (midlman)

Porken- Lift bars would be very helpful. Glad you can make the trip!

Tom D.- Right on. Good that you're able to make it!

Pacnw928 guys- So I guess it's gonna be in the low to mid nineties tomorrow. I'm gonna bring the wine for sure, but will probably bring some cold beer and water as well. We should all probably drink alot of water if we'll be working outside for a few hours in the sun. Hopefully, there's some shade at Keith's place and a cooler for the beer! Looking forward to meeting you all!

Mick

Hey Keith, I am in the same situation as Tom. I have not received a reply from you and still need directions. Please email directions to my personal email: michael.benno@...? or send them to my phone number 503-756-7587.?

I'll be heading out from Portland around noon so I can drive some backroads to Keith's place.?

Re: Saturday August 26th 928 Meet, Mend & Eat BBQ in Battle Ground WA

Pacnw928 guys- The wine I got with the Pelican Parts voucher arrived yesterday. 12 bottles of red for $89! I drank a bit of a South African Shiraz last night. It was delicious! I'm not sure how long they're offering those vouchers or how much you have to spend to get one (I spent a little over $100) but for anyone who loves wine, it's a great deal! These bottles retail between 25 and 40 dollars. You'll have a chance to sample a few Saturday if you are at the BBQ. Anyone planning on attending should let Keith know soon by emailing him at keithmartin@.... He will email you directions. Come on over to Battleground fellas! The more the merrier!

Kind Regards,
Mick

I've emailed you privately for directions Keith, but thought I'd let the rest of the group know, I ordered the red wine with the voucher I received from pelican parts. Hopefully, that arrives at my doorstep in the middle of the week. I'll be bringing a few bottles to the BBQ. I'm also happy to order some pizza for those who've not brought anything to cook. (I'll be ordering some for myself, as dealing with the timing belt tensioning and concerning myself with cooking steak seems like a bit too much to deal with).

Looking forward to meeting you all!

I have two 3-ton jacks and 6 Jack Stands (4 really good ones - if we need more, someone could bring some more jack stands), and 2 pairs of drive-on ramps (for 928's we may want to jack a car up and "put" it on the ramps, not drive it up).?
I have a number of vacuums and a steam cleaner and lots of hoses & hose bibs.?
I have quite a few metric tools (no riming belt tensioner) and lots of shop lights - people could probably bring some more lights.?

Hi Keith, thanks for hosting. I am planning on coming up as well with my GTS. I will volunteer to bring up a bunch of reusable picnic plates for us all. I'd recommend we all bring our own cup/silverware to ease up on the trash we leave at Keith's.

I am hoping to bring my favorite tools but still waiting on confirmations from Glen (aka?Zirconocene) and Ken (aka Porken). Joking aside, if folks want a demonstration on how to rebuild the flappy and throttle plate assembly I can bring the S4/GT/GTS manifold I am working on and provide a walkthrough. So let me know and I will bring them up.?

Re: Tool requests for BBQ

Pacnw928guys- No need for a hand held oil pump for Saturday....I've decided not to mess with the oil in the tensioner and I'd suggest the same to anyone else who plans to adjust their timing belt this weekend. There are some posters on Rennlist who have accidently damaged their tensioner by pumping in oil with a hand pump. (Too much pressure for the delicate components). Since I'll be pretty far from home, I don't want to risk screwing up the tensioner. There is a special procedure suggested for oiling the tensioner involving removing the bleeder valves and using a Visene eyedropper bottle. I can share the specifics at the BBQ with anyone interested.

I still am interested to know if anyone has a quality micrometer. My ride to Battleground is almost an hour, so the engine will be hot when I get there. We'll need to wait awhile before working under the hood. I'd love to try to get a good measurement of my rotors. I have tried cheap micrometers from Harbor Freight on other cars I've owned. They were terrible! Let me know if anyone has one. Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
