Colin,

Thanks for this. ?Not great news for me, as it means I have to rebuild mine. ?The top port will not hold vacuum.

Cheers

Michael,

Would you have an 063?

One of my big questions at the moment concerns the vacuum ports. ?

i know they switched functions over the years, but I dont know which of my ports is supposed to hold vacuum, as opposed to being vented

I did manage to find the temp vs pressure curve

Re: WUR questions

Nothing that ends in 063.? Maybe look at cross reference parts.

I used to run adapters and fuel lines from the car to a bench test.? That way I could test and calibrate them.? Used to sell them on Ebay.

Not sure why it cut off Rich's email.....here it is:

Re: WUR questions

The lower port will lower pressure with vacuum and raise pressure with boost (forced induction)
The upper port (near fuel lines) will raise pressure under vacuum, and lower pressure with boost.?

Lower WUR pressure = richer. Higher WUR pressure = leaner.?

You should have a vacuum diagram on the underside of your hood which will tell you which port should be connected to which.?
However, under vacuum you want it to raise the pressure so when vacuum is removed it gets richer for better response. So top port is where the vacuum is likely to be. Lower port is unlikely to be used, but if it is, it would likely be connected to the same port for vacuum advance or to receive partial vacuum during accel. It won't be connected to manifold vacuum.?

Re: WUR questions

I know nothing about the CIS system, but I bought a kit recently to test my L-jet fuel system. It appears to have the 10mm fittings you need?

Good luck!

WUR questions

Keeping on with my CIS testing. ?I have a 79 with a 063 WUR. ?The WUR was rebuilt 6 years ago, and has 4,000 miles on it.

I had assumed that the top vacuum port on the WUR was supposed to hold vacuum, and that the lower port was to be vented. ?In my case, the top port is connected to the right side of the TB, while the lower port is connected to the rear of the TB

But the top port does not hold vacuum, while the lower one does.

Also, I went to go check my control and system pressures. ?My kit came fitted with M12x1.5 inverted flare fittings. ?But the hard line on the WUR has 10x1 fittings, both in the body side and the flare side.

Any idea where I could find an adapter?

Cheers

Could be mine, if it was from Bremerton

The Ridge (Shelton) Motorsports Park

Still no group members showing up for Hooked On Driving.? Following up from my message 2 weeks ago, HOD is back at the Ridge in Shelton tomorrow - Thursday June 20th.?
My #41 is back firmly on it's wheels (after fuel system clean-out - turns out the "in tank" PSI hose from the Fuel Pump was broken) and should be rockin' & rollin'.??
You can still sign up tonight or show up tomorrow by 7 AM to get your car on the track.??
There is room in C-Advanced (I will be leading that group of only 8 drivers), B - Intermediate (13 drivers), and A-Solo - Not enough? coaches for late sign up if you need to be A Novice with Coach.? I am also slated to perform Advanced Coaching if you are a "B" Driver and want a Coach for a session.??

The Ridge is a fantastic track - Was by far my favorite track for the 928.??

Hope to see some folks there.??

Jerry's in Green Lake, so you're likely right around the corner from him.

Send him a note to coordinate (jerrywge@...) and let him know you saw it on the PacNW928 list.

Hi all,
Long time lister Jerry G has been doing some storage cleaning and found the two mid "large" resonators that had been replaced by small mufflers on his long gone 87S4.? These look pretty clean coming from a low mile S4 before being removed.
They are available for free if anyone wants them.
Note: These have been cut from the pipes, so it's just the two resonators.? Pics below.
Let me know and I can put you in touch with Jerry......otherwise they'll be heading to the recycler. ?
P.S.? date code of 07/86 for those of you that do that kind of thing :) .
