Re: my 1989 S4 is for sale...
Well, the spray didn't work, but taking the switch apart and cleaning the contacts did!? Springs and ball bearings!.. Separated the switch inside a plastic bag, bent the clips back to remove and

Re: Door panels, switches, locks and such
I did the 'Rennbow' check for my (for sale) Dunkelblau (Dark Blue) 928 and it came up 'Four Paint Cans'. I've only seen one other that color.

Re: Door panels, switches, locks and such
That's the part I miss most about our old shop at that location. Lots of independent contractors doing body work and the like, were willing to work on price, and did good work.? Those shop spaces

Re: Door panels, switches, locks and such
The guy that did it was pretty desperate from what I recall. I bought the paint and paid him $1.5-$2k(ish). He wasn't a pro but did a reasonable job and I wasn't looking for perfection.

Hey, Tom. Thanks for sharing these! Yep, that was mid-prep. Paint is holding up well, I've got a few dings and such that I'll need to address. I don't have any recent pictures but will take some once

Re: Door panels, switches, locks and such
Dug up a couple pics of Andrew's 928.? It is a unique color for sure. Only one I've ever seen.? Truly has the "shimmer" of salmon going on. These pics were (I think) in the prep for paint refresh.

Andrew: Salmon Siver Metallic is extremely rare indeed. You should post a picture of your car on Rennbow for posterity (here is the link

Re: Door panels, switches, locks and such
Hello dear 928ers.? I hope everyone is happy and well. The image that Michael Benno attached reminded me that I have to replace the part #44 from the image.? Exterior door handle is inoperable.??

Re: Door panels, switches, locks and such
Thanks, Michael. That really was a simple fix, and I feel a bit foolish for missing the hex bolt behind the grommet in the door jam. My '89 is Salmon Silver Metallic (81 K paint code). I had the paint

Re: Door panels, switches, locks and such
Hello! What color is your car? It looks to be Cassis Rot, which is super rare. My 928 is also Cassis Rot. Your door lock is loose because the securing bolt in the door jam is loose or missing; see

Door panels, switches, locks and such
Hi all, I've been lurking on our forum for quite some time as life projects have gotten in the way of 928 projects. Last week my right side window wouldn't return up to fully closed. Long story short

Warning brain check is on the list, as well as those rivets on the speed/foil.? Probably end up doing the ign switch too just because I don't want to go back in there LOL. Thanks for the tips.

Re: OB instrument cluster question time
Tom, I have had mine off due leather rehab of most of my front. I had the broken gear on the trip and odometer. I also cleaned all the tabs on the foil that the connectors go onto with electronic

Re: OB instrument cluster question time
Tom, in my 1980 car, the rivets connecting the foil to the terminals were making intermittent contact. I ended up soldering the rivets to the foil traces, which solved my speedo/odometer problem. I

Re: OB instrument cluster question time
There are no adjustments on the regulators. 14.5V colt will drop down. There is a small pot on the gauge to adjust it to match the battery though. 15V will not cook the battery and it will drop down
