TT Update, if anyone's interested :)

Adam Birnbaum

Well I got the front of the tube mounted last night.

Mark at 928 Int'l confirmed that the front flange was the same on the 5
speed as on the A/T. Needless to say, that was not the news I wanted to
hear.

It was ugly, but desperate times call for desperate measures. All I will
say is that the install required 1) a third floor jack (nice portable with
a carrying case so I can bring it to DE's) 2) two jack handles to use as
pry bars, and yes 3) borrowed dremel tool.

Don't ask, I don't want to talk about it. Were there shavings? Oh yes. The
front is in.

I'm going to review the manuals tonight for the procedure to remove the
converter housing and replacing the bearings and converter seal. I've
never been an A/T kind of guy until I got my shark, and I've heard bad
voodoo things about pulling out converters, but I still want to go for it.

For those of you that inquired, thanks for the support.
