Re: Klingmann/Clingman in Pennsylvania
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýTwo comments.?? Have you tried to find your "Georgs" in the German listings on Family Search.? Some times you are lucky and can find the whole family.? Other times you can be very lucky and find an entry in a church book that says the person came to America.? The good thing, Family Search is free, and you can do the research on you computer while watching your favorite TV program.Other times...............? The second thought, is look at the county History books.?? Many counties in the US, wrote their histories, in the last quarter of the 19th century.? Many of these histories area online so it is a couple of minutes in a search engine to find if there is a history of the area where you family lived in the US.? (Be creative in your search strings.)? Many can be downloaded to your computer as PDF files, so you can read them at your leisure. ? I was lucky, in that one history provided the only link I could find between the family in Scotland, in New Jersey, and Illinois.
