Sorry to hear about this person who obviously needs a network of help and surveillance that we’re simply deficient in.?It’s extraordinarily sad to think how our area has it relatively “easy” compared to places like E12th and so forth throughout Oakland.? In the distant past when we all periodically met about emergency prep and crime, let’s remind ourselves again to do an overall security check —removal of?attractive nuisances from porches, operating outdoor lights, optional cameras (with recording capability to share with law enforcement and insurance), earthquake and wildfire supplies, safety checks for everything (from gas lines to tree roots) and an updated inventory list with receipts (agsin for those police and insurance reports). This may not seem exactly relevant to a deranged individual shouting on your porch, but it’s part and parcel of living in an urban area. |

free wood chips/mulch
Hi, After the massive tree damage this week, one of the tree companies chopping up the trees was giving away the free wood chips/mulch. I said I would take some, not negotiating the amount. As it turns out, the amount was a lot! About twice as much as I can use. So there is still a lot in my driveway at 5690 OGA (right before Pharmaca). Water main break (again!) on Oak Grove Avenue
Hi, neighbors,
By now, you have probably seen or heard about the break in the water main on the lower end of Oak Grove. It was discovered and reported early Sunday morning, and the repair work began early last night. They were still working well past midnight. This morning at 9:00am I heard the jackhammer drilling again. They are now digging up the new asphalt and starting over. A worker told me that the old leak was repaired, but when the hole was filled and paved over, that must have started a new leak. It looks like they will be at it all day today.
