I’m forwarding a follow-up e-mail from Donna Frankel about the "CFE- Campaign for Faculty Equality” - meeting on Zoom Thursday at 10 AM.

At least one of you replied that you were interested, and perhaps some others were interested but didn’t reply. (You didn’t have to reply to me … but it was nice to hear from one of our members that she was interested!).

Hi Linda,

I just caught up with this.? If I had a ton more energy, I would get involved.

Do I understand correctly that what they are saying is that part-timers would get the same hourly

pay as FT (equal pay for equal work) and equal benefits (not pro rated?)

I'm certainly for the goal:? full time work for all at a living wage.

Yes. That is our goal. We are tired of the few crumbs grudgingly pushed in our direction over the past 50 years.?

How we get there? We are trying to find a few ethical folks in powerful positions in each and every teachers union, association, Academic Senate, etc. to help us, (CFE --? Campaign for Faculty Equality) make it a reality. Our group has been meeting on zoom nearly every week since we put on a symposium through FACCC on the One-Tier System Dec. 9, 2022. Over 200 PTF (part time faculty) attended and their enthusiasm resulted in CFE, which has been involved in 3 more events to spread our message.

If you haven't heard of Labor Notes, their Troublemakers School and now a Caucus to get there, I will send you that information. Some 60 to 150 attend their first Tuesday of the month zoom entitled, "When your union breaks your heart" which has a wealth of information and ideas. I've attended each since Feb. 2023.
