Hi OAEF Folks,
I posted the letter we wrote to the AEM (Adult Education Matters) blog.
Here is a link to the post:?
You can now easily share the letter on your social media by copying and pasting that link to your social media. When you click "post," it will show up with an image - our logo that was used on the t-shirts.?
Strongly suggest:?
In addition to copying and pasting, add some test such as?
"OAEF speaks up about the value of Older Adults Classes and the importance of including them in State of CA budget for Adult Education. Read the letter to learn more."??
Add hashtags:
#OAEF?
#OlderAdultsAdultEducation
#AdultEducationMatters
You can "tag in" an elected official. To do this, you'll need to find the elected official on the form of social media you're using - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), etc. Copy and paste their "address" from social media.?
For example, here is Assembly Kevin McCarty on Facebook:?
Use the @ sign to tag someone in.
IMPORTANT:? If you "tag in" someone, they will know you are tagging them in - so make sure it's win-win.?
Example,? ?@KevinMcCarty has shown strong support of Adult Education. We know that he will understand why Older Adults classes are important to include in the budget for #AdultEducation.?
Especially if an elected has done something good, you want to tag them in on social. This gives them credit and attention for doing good things - their "followers" on social will see it (if they have set up their social that way).?
I could blather on much longer - but that's why I gave the presentation on social media last summer!
I hope this will help you. Maybe I can explain more at a future meeting.?
Cynthia
