Log not sorting properly
Hi Hugh, Thanks for your e-mail. Make sure you properly enter your date with yyyy/mm/dd format. I very casually made 36 Qs, all FT8, with WSJT-X connected to our VHF software. Here is an example of using post contest mode to enter a CW Q and then sorting the log: Before entry: Enter pressed. N3TEST is the most recent entry: After clicking File > Sort Log on Date, the file is properly sorted on date: Enjoy! 73, Scott N3FJP http://www.n3fjp.com Serving the Amateur Radio community with contesting and general logging software since 1997. 1 Peter 3 vs 15: Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. ARRL VHF Contest using Post Contest Mode. I started by importing an ADIF file of FT8 contacts that was compiled by WSJT, those contacts were all made on Sunday. Then I began adding analog contacts manually. Some of those contacts were made on Saturday, some inbetween the FT8 contacts on Sunday and some after. I tried using File - Sort Log on Date, but it insists on listing my FT8 contacts from Sunday first. I generated a Cabrillo file and even it is not sorted on date. What am I doing wrong ? logging from WSJT help 5
Can anyone suggest how to make this work? With AClog, I have it working swimmingly. Complete a FT8 contacts, and WSJT and AClog work together, and my contact gets logged on AClog. I've configured this successfully several times on various PCs and laptops. Today, I installed the VHF contest log, and it does not seem to work the same way. I gave up after 3-4 hours of no luck. I'll just use the regular AClog program for the VHF contest! Any guidance on doing this? Thanks in advance!!! Dave KD2E

Mode is Locked on RTTY 8
As a follow up..... I was on 24911. When I tuned down to below 24910, the Mode switched to CW. If I tune above 24910 it goes to RTTY. I have always set the log to use frequency to determine mode which I will now turn off. But the bigger question is where do I go to set the mode sub-bands?? -- 73 de George K4GM

Mode is locked on RTTY 2
I have been operating CW all day today and yesterday. Suddenly the mode box shows RTTY and I can't change it unless I save a QSO and then use the EDIT button to change to CW. If I turn off the radio, exit the log and restart the log it locks on SSB. If I then start the radio it switches from a lock on SSB to a lock on RTTY all over again. What is the fix?? -- 73 de George K4GM

WSJT-X rc8 Log comment info not seen by ACL 3
For FT8, I'm running a K4D, WSJT-X rc8, JTAlert, N4FJP ACL 7.0.11. They all work together very nicely...except in one situation I have found. When working a POTA station on FT8 and completing the QSO, WSJT-X pops up a logging window containing the QSO information. For the fun of it, I usually enter the park # and name in the Comments field in that window and hit Enter. Before rc8 and 7.0.11 updates, I noticed ACL would include the Comments field from WSJT-X into the ACL Comments field; other times not. Now after the updates, no WSJT-X log info Comments makes it to ACL. All other log info gets into ACL, but not Comments. Where it was once a maybe so or maybe not situation, it's now a definite No situation for WSJT-X Comments to make it to ACL Comments. Anyone else seeing this? Is there a keyboard fix for it? I'm not even sure where to point a finger of 'blame'.... Thanks for any info/insights anyone can provide. 73, dale, kg5u

Club name appears twice in drop down box on HamDash 7
Hi Scott, I've noticed this before and just wanted to bring it attention. In HamDash, on the drop down box to select my club, Swamp Fox Contest Group is listed twice. Is this a glitch or a bug you need to be aware of? I did notice during the last contest that one of my club mates was not identified with the "club" symbol next to his call when I had HamDash up and running. Thanks for everything. I do enjoy the HamDash during contests. Helps me keep the B in the C !! -- Alan, W4ANT South Carolina

Transmitting WAV files to NAQP Contest Software Not Functioning on Kenwood TS-590SG 2
I'm trying to play a WAV file when I press the corresponding Function key. I have the rig interface working fine with my TS-590. However, when I try to play a WAV file, here's what happens: 1) The proper WAV file is selected and displayed on the NAQP logging Page as if it is playing. 2) The TS-590 is keyed into the transmit mode and goes back to receive when the message is finished. 3) Even though the TS-590 is keyed, no audio is transmitted. However, if I either momentarily push the SEND button OR momentarily press the foot-switch OR hit the Function Key a second time while the message is shown playing on the logging page, the audio comes through and transmits correctly. I have slowed the baud rate all the way down to 9600, but the problem persists. I know my rig's USB Audio Codec is working because I have no problem playing the same WAV files with my N1MM software.

Band not worked yet flag 3
If I missed this then please excuse me. Is it possible to enter a call into the standard flavor of AC Log that will flag a QSO on a new band? For example, I worked W3HCA on 10 meters and the contact was confirmed. During a normal call entry, if I work W3HCA again, I would be told by AC Log that I have worked this station and the QSO was confirmed. This is accomplished by no flags being set in the Call and the or the State (or country) fields. What I am wanting to be accomplished is, if I work W3HCA on, let's say 10 meters, and the QSO was confirmed, but then I contact the same station but lets say ,40 meters, will I get a flag saying it was a new band. This is nice if someone is working a 5BWAS or a 5BDXCC award, Inquiring minds want to know, Lowell Yates, KD8HD President of W3HCA

NAQP contest log missing RST fields in ADIF 2 #naqp
After taking part in the recent CW NAQP contest, using the latest version 5.3.7 of NAQP contest log, I exported an ADIF file so I could import it into ACLog. I discovered that the RST sent/recvd columns were not created. Previous versions did create them with the usual 599/599 contest entries.

Winter Field Day Log 2.9.0 is Now Available!
Hi All, Winter Field Day Log 2.9.0 is Now Available! The Winter Field Day folks let us know last fall that they were adding additional bonus multiplier objectives for Winter Field Day 2025, that would be best handled on log submission from their web site. We only just discovered that those modifications included removing the multipliers applied for each band / mode slot activated, per prior year contest rules. These specific multipliers were previously calculated in the software and we've updated the program accordingly. Now, much like the ARRL Field Day log submittal process, all objectives, bonuses and multipliers will be applied to your QSO points when you submit your log on their Winter Field Day site. As always, upgrades and new programs are free to registered users. If you are currently running a version of our software released after January 2021 and are Internet connected, each program should detect the new upgrade and offer to retrieve it for you on start. If you have any problem with the automatic upgrade, or you are running an older version, you can install the latest versions directly from our web site. https://www.n3fjp.com/winterfieldday.html Als always, if you are planning to network multiple PCs, be sure to gather them together in advance to set up your network. Problems solved easily in a relaxed environment can seem insurmountable when the clock is ticking! Enjoy Winter Field Day! I hope to work you! And in response to the questions we always receive when we neglect to include the following in our e-mail announcements... Package Upgrade Information... If you have registered one or more individual programs and would like to upgrade to N3FJP's Software Package for full use of all our Amateur Radio software, we would be glad to apply the amount that you have registered so far as a credit towards that purchase. Please see this page here for more information: https://n3fjp.com/upgradetopackage.html N3FJP's Software Package includes more than one hundred programs for contesting, net management and general logging Amateur Radio applications, as well as our HamDash, WX Warn weather, Amateur Exam Study Buddy and MeshSense applications! In addition to full use of all these programs, registered package customers are also entitled to receive free passwords for any new software that we add to the package and free upgrades to existing programs. There are no annual / maintenance costs of any kind. Simply register once and you are set with N3FJP Software for life! You'll find all the details on the Register Now page here: https://n3fjp.com/purchasepackage.html Donations are Gratefully Accepted! And in response to the often asked question, for which Kimberly, Chris and I are very grateful... "I know your upgrades are free, but I also realize how much time and effort coding these enhancements and new programs take and that your pricing policy doesn't fully reflect that. Can I send you something to show my appreciation for your continued efforts?" Yes, thanks so much, your continued support in any amount is very welcome and deeply appreciated! You can use this page: https://n3fjp.com/donations.html or send your contribution by mail, payable to Affirmatech Inc., to: G. Scott Davis 118 Glenwood Road Bel Air, MD 21014-5533 Thank you so much for your continued support! Thanks! As always, thanks for your kind words, support, linking to our web site and spreading the word about our software. ACLog upgrade to 7.0.11 3
Scott/all, I recently tried to upgrade to version 7.0.11 and during the process I get the message "drive or UNC is not available" I have had this problem in past upgrades but have always been able to find a solution. (Didn't document the fix)! Also get the same response when trying to install a fresh download. I guess I would like to know what file is the upgrade trying to install to? The existing ACLog program is in Documents library. ACLog 7.0.10 executes properly. This is an older Windows 7 machine with SS drive. Jim, k6lr

QRZ lookups only grabbing first name, full name is in the comments field 5
This seems to be an issue since updating to 7.0.11. When doing lookups the calls first name is the only item filled in the name field, although the full name is listed in the comments field. How do I fix this? Thanks, Dave K4IDB

Running 2 registrations 10
I need to run two copies of the N3FPJ software on the same laptop, one for personal use and one for club use. I would like to know how to do that. One registration will be for club use during POTA activations, events, contest, etc. That one will be for the complete software package. Club logs during these events will be kept on my laptop. The other registration will be for my personal call and will just be for Amateur Contact Log. I operate from two different QTHs so I want to have a copy on my laptop, and a copy on my desktop, with the shared log file kept on a central storage that is reachable by both. So the laptop needs to be able to run either one with club logs and access to my master log, and the desktop just needs to be able to run my registration. What is the best way to set this up to accomplish this? Thanks!

Double Entry 2
Occasionally, AC Log will do double entries when logging from WSJT. I did not hit the log button twice, and it doesn't happen all the time but it happens often enough that it is a pain to delete the duplicate contact, resort the log. This started a few months ago. Has anyone else experienced this phenomena? Rick NY1V
