Re: NI ENTERED THE SOFTWARE ON A NEW COMPUTER AND THE DATA PATH IS ONE DRIVE

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your e-mail.? I'm sorry that you have run into trouble.??Our software has been designed with keeping your log file on your local PC or local network in mind. We have not experimented with OneDrive or other cloud provider installations, so we strongly recommend that you install the software and host your log file on your local hard drive instead of OneDrive. If you wish to turn off, disable or uninstall OneDrive, you will find Microsoft's information on that here.

While we recommend keeping your data on your local network, we have had good reports from users who backup their log to OneDrive. Others have reported that they also keep their primary log on OneDrive as well with good success, as long as they only run one iteration of the software at a time and they have updated their OneDrive settings to allow our software to access OneDrive. If you are planning on networking more than one PC, based on reports from other users, you should keep your log file on your local network instead of OneDrive.

After you've set your new PC to your desired configuration, then go to your old PC and follow these steps:??

- Start AC Log on your old PC.
- Using AC Log on your old PC, open your log file (if it didn't open automatically on start)
- Click File > Export ADIF
- Save the ADIF file of your log to a portable medium, such as a thumb drive
- Take the portable medium to your new PC
- If you haven't already, install AC Log on your new PC.
- From AC Log's menu options, click File > Import ADIF, navigate to your portable storage medium and select your ADIF file.

Enjoy!

Re: How do I keep AC Log straight on settings/credentials if I'm logging for another call sign (like a club call)?

Bob, N7FQT, offered a good suggestion or workaround for your issue.? Another way is to export the ADI file prior to upload and use a third-party software such as ADIF Master (Free) to verify the call sign and operators.? Once you make those adjustments, import them back.? Another, more simpler way, would be to use bulk edit and define the fields you need to change for the records you need to change.? Outside of that, it seems like an issue with club members, or scouts, not knowing the procedure.? For that, you could leave a note.?
Our club has similar issues as we do a lot of events with a mobile trailer and multiple ops not logging in or out even with someone pressing CTL+S before they change.
Just some ideas.

Re: How do I keep AC Log straight on settings/credentials if I'm logging for another call sign (like a club call)?

This is a great case where you should set up a new user on your PC to have a completely separate environment in which to operate. You can load ACLog into that user partition and set it up just for scout operations. You can move back and forth between users if need be. Keep in mind, however, that you will need to close down ACLog before you switch users to free up the comm ports.

Re: rig cntl

After running Flrig and connected to your rig
?
Look under Fldigi
?
Configure | Config Dialog
?
There is a N3FJP Logs option in the dialog ... these are my settings and when I click "Log Contact" under Fldigi it auto exports to AC Log.
?

How do I keep AC Log straight on settings/credentials if I'm logging for another call sign (like a club call)?

I use N3FJP AC Log for my own logs and for our Scout Camp Club (K4TBS). We have an event coming up and want to use AC Log because of seamless integration into WSTJ-X, Fldigi, etc., but I've run into an issue. If I'm not very careful, credentials for my personal get used on the club call or vice versa. Because of this, I've turned off auto upload features in LOTW/QRZ.
?
I have AC Log set to prompt setup when starting, but it does not seem to save these based on the log file being used. It seems to be based on the last settings.
?
The club has it's own LOTW account and it's own QRZ log. The credentials for uploading to QRZ/LOTW do not seem to be saved based on the log file being used and if I'm not very careful, I could accidentally upload my personal to the club or vice versa. Deleting these would be a nightmare (especially from LOTW).
?
Does anyone else similarly manage personal log and a club log with AC Log? How do you manage this? Manually? Is there a script I can setup to do all this for me either before or after launch of AC Log?
?
Or do you just not try to do this and use another logger to do your club?
?

He is going to join us this year and do CW only. He does have some hearing loss, but otherwise very capable of doing CW, however he is not very keyboard proficient. Last year, he would write it down and we had someone sitting beside him typing it in as he finished the QSO. That meant he could only operate while someone was sitting with him as he felt he wasn't quick enough. He also felt he wasn't literate enough with the software to not make a mistake, but I think he did fine, he just felt he was too slow when doing it.

He wants to know if there is a way to decode the CW and push it into logger for him. He uses an AEA Morse Machine, but I think the difficult part is going to be the reception and callsign population of the sending stations. I've tried doing auto-cw stuff myself when logging and found it quite lacking and often prone to more errors than he would ever make. I would like to try to find something that would potentially help him out, though.?
