aclog 2.4 date sort
Richard
Scott:
I think I have found the problem.. I had entered a qso with the exact date and time as another. When I removed the entered qso, the problem went away. The pop-up screen is stil showing the bottom half under the bottom of the logbook. Try entering a qso with a different call but with the same exact date and time and see what you get. Richard |

开云体育Hi Scott, I have a question. I just installed 2.4
on a slightly newer PC running w98 with 128meg. I moved everything over from the
old w95 laptop (rig interface, log files, telnet, callbook, etc.). Everything
seems ok except search. If I enter a call and hit ALT-S it does not find the
entry. If I enter the call and TAB it shows the info. This does work on the w95
machine. I have compared settings between the 2 machines but I wouldn't think it
would be a setup issue. Any thoughts.

Sort on Date problem AClog 2.4
Richard
Scott:
I have 4601 qso's in logbook but can not get sort on date function to work. The pop-up screen does not go entirely away when I select Yes.. I can see the bottom of it below the logbook list. I waited awhile as you suggest, but after 20 minutes I figured it was hung. I got out of AClog and restarted it and the entries seemed to be sorted ok.. Tried again with same results.. win 98 se 512 MB ram Richard |

Thanks for your kind words on the software and providing a link to my website.? I really appreciate it. Actually, I already have a number of customers who have registered Amateur Contact Log for short wave listening.? I haven't specifically looked into the logging requirements of the SWL community but I would love to provide full support.? In fact, Amateur Contact Log already can be customized in so many ways that I suspect that it might be very close if not ready as is.? There are 30 data fields to choose from as well as 4 "Other" fields which the user can assign as they see fit.? The user can easily customize the data entry screen so that only the fields required for logging SWL contacts are displayed. Please take a look at ACLog form the point of view of an SWL and let me know what you think.? I would really appreciate knowing what, if any additional fields would be required for ACLog to fully support the SWL community.? Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions. 73, Scott, N3FJP snkdavis@... 开云体育 the Amateur Radio Community with general logging and contesting software since 1997. Which fields are you entering criteria for besides Call when you click Search?? You might want to respond to me directly at snkdavis@... in case this requires several e-mails to resolve.? Re: Sort on Date problem AClog 2.4
Hi Richard,

The sort on date function can take a while.? It uses the actual records on your hard drive which is much slower.? The code for that feature did not change from 2.3 to 2.4, so I don't think there is a problem.? You should see a progress bar appear above the list.? Go ahead and start it again and let it run for a while.? Please let me know how you make out. 73, Scott, N3FJP snkdavis@... 开云体育 the Amateur Radio Community with general logging and contesting software since 1997. 开云体育Scott, heres my vote. Can you give us an option in
the Settings, Edit Fields Displayed screen to display/not display a box called
"Send Spot" on the main page, similar to QSL S/R. Then we can select this box
before logging the call and the spot is sent automatically.
?
As a side issue, if one of the 4 "Other" fields
could be tagged for DX use, then we could enter comments?(30
characters)?for the cluster to be sent as well.
?
Man, this is too cool?? :-)
?
Thanks again for great s/w and actually listening
to our "wish lists".

Re: Previous contact bug
Richard Turske
开云体育I should have said all but one vanish. I have
several regular contacts that have been logged many times. Try it with a contact
with more than one entry in your log. I am exiting State then to sent rec
country and comments. They reappear on comments.

dxcluster
Scott,
Wondering if there might be a chance you could add a check box like the QSL sent / receive boxes that would allow you to send a spot directly to the dxcluster instead of having to click on the window then click the spot last button then hit enter. I other words, once you've filled out the information to log a contact you could have the option of checking the box labeled "send to packet cluster" or something like that then when you would hit enter to log the entry into you log book it would automatically send the spot to the dxcluster. Previous contact bug
turske57
Hello Scott. I have been trying 2.4 for a few days and have found a
small bug. After entering the call sign of a previous contact, the log shows all previous contacts. However while tabbing through the sent and rec fields, all of the previous contacts vanish from view?? Thats all I've found so far. Richard W8WWT (N8NZ) |

Hi Radhames,
Thanks for your comments. I have responses inserted throughout: --- In N3FJP_Software_Users@..., "radhames bonilla" <radhamesbonilla@h...> wrote: Hi Scott and everybody:About ACLOG v 2.4 a few questions: 1- Spectrum Map background color: It is not possible change color (too blue color it?s unresist); ** Not with version 2.4. 2-Voice Navigation: Why worked it in 2.3 and doesn?t in 2.4; ** You will have to copy the wave files to the working directory of version 2.4. Then it will work fine. 3-Settings: Nothing for transmit RTTY setup? ** Supporting other modes is on the list, but probably won't make version 2.5. 4-Callbook Horseflying 2003 or later: How link it with ACLOG 2.4? Anyway: wich field it suppose to enter data about name and qth, from any callbook database: name field or comments field? ** AClog currently supports QRZ, Buckmaster's Hamcall and ACLog ready data. I've had a few requests for Flying Horse but not too many. If it becomes a popular data source I'll add it in a future enhancment. 5-What?s use of List Matches Tab (settings)? ** They function exactly as the old On/Off buttons did. By the way, you can still display the On/Off buttons if you like. 6-Recall: I never have understood what?s the use of this function ** Data from the previous contact fills the data entry fields. Actually, I don't think I've used the function but I had quite a few requests for it early on. 7.-Configuration Regional and languaje settings format: How afect the use of ACLOG different time/date configurations format that are using for any other software? Wich valid for ACLOG? ** Your Windows date format should be set as closely as possible to the date format that you selected for ACLog. HOPE (for 2.5, 2.6 and so on upgrades): A) Frequency/band/mode/rst table: where user would enter only frequency data and program automactically would enter band, mode and both rst data; ** That is a good idea. I'll keep that in mind. B) Big help to all users: make program enter automactically cq/itu zones data. At this time it?s too hard make it one by one. ** Definitely planning on incorporating that in 2.5, at least where the zones are unique to the country's prefix. C)Add a couple "bells and whistles" I sent to You long time ago. CONGRATULATIONS!! for your effort. ** Thanks for your kind words and checking out the software. I really appreciate it. 73, Scott N3FJP All ham comunity are very glad. 73, Radhames, hi3ab |

I'm guessing that you only have the matching state entered for one of those contacts.? That is the contact that is being listed.? If you edit the other contacts to add the state they should also appear. 73, Scott, N3FJP snkdavis@... 开云体育 the Amateur Radio Community with general logging and contesting software since 1997. ACLog 2.4 beta test
grogers2@aol.com
The program is running well.? I only have a little over 300 contacts entered so notice only a small speed improvement.
I did notice that when I installed 2.4 and told it to transfer settings from 2.3 it did not transfer the labels I had entered for other, other1, etc.? Don't know if it was supposed to though. 73 Glenn Rogers?? WA5ZJK |

Thanks for your e-mail and suggestion. I'm trying to keep the form as clean as I can, but there are some options.? I could either add the command button but make it invisible.? You would have to make it visible and place it where you want it by clicking Settings, Edit Fields Displayed.? The other option would be to have it appear when you click on a logged contact from the list like the Edit and Delete buttons.? The advantage there is that you could send any recent contact to the cluster that you want. I'll give that some thought and all suggestions are welcome.? Thanks for the idea! 73, Scott, N3FJP snkdavis@... 开云体育 the Amateur Radio Community with general logging and contesting software since 1997.
