Suggestion for ACLog
Hello!
I have a suggestion for ACLog 2.3... After spending some time this morning setting up my fields and tabs, it occured to be how much easier it would be if the program (while in design mode) had a "snap to grid" function. Such a function would make custom placement of the fields on the screen a little cleaner. Keep up the good work with your programs, especially ACLog. I always enjoy using it! 73 de Joe, N2NOU |

I eventually hope to support as many contests as I can.? Right now, the number one request is clearly the PA QSO party and I've been working on that one the last few weeks.? These programs take quite a bit of time, but I'm cranking them out as quickly as I can. Thanks for the request.? I keep a file of requests and use them to help decide what is next on a very long list! 73, Scott, N3FJP snkdavis@... Getting my CW interface to work
k4drq
I just built the 2N2222 interface circuit and haven't been able to
get it to key my rig. Does anyone know what the signal level should be at the db9 output/cw interface input? I can put a positive voltage of 12v on the input and it keys the circuit and the radio fine, so the circuit appears to work fine at that voltage level. and, the software seems to be working fine as I get pulses on the scope when I view the db9 output. I'll appreciate any suggestions. Huel k4drq |

Not being a hardware guy myself, I'd really appreciate it if you would send along any thoughts and suggestions to help Huel get his CW interface going. Re: Grid display
Thanks for the suggestions. The outline maps are cool, and I'd like to use them as much as I can. So far they have been added to Field Day, November Sweepstakes and each of the State QSO Party programs. They will definitely be in future versions of ACLog.
The problem with the maps is that they have to be physically drawn (which has been keeping Kim, KA3SEQ off the streets lately). Since different geographical areas will be of interest for each VHF user, I'm not sure how I would approach outline maps for the VHF contest. It is a great idea and I wish I could, but barring a brain storm I'll probably focus on the grid display. Please let me know what else comes to mind. 73, Scott N3FJP Serving the Amateur Radio Community with contesting and general logging software since 1997. Thank you for the quick response!! I vote for both.. I like the idea of being able to see the whole map (or at least more of it) full screen once in a while, (maybe while the band is dead), while having the scroll feature would be great while "on the hunt". Thanks again for producing great software! 73 de Tim, N4TSS ----- Original Message -----

Yes, I'm glad you asked. I've had a couple of requests for a larger grid map and there are a couple of ways to go. As you know, I've already allocated as much room to the main form for the map as I can. To enhance the display I can: - Add 4 arrow keys (North, South, East and West) so that you can "scroll" through additional area. Advantage - You don't have to leave the main form (fewer keystrokes/clicks) Disadvantage - The only way to see additional area is by scrolling. - Add another full screen form to display the larger map area. Advantage - You will be able to see a larger area at one time. Disadvantage - The map won't constantly be displayed. You will have to open and close it each time you wish to view it. - Provide both options. I'd love to hear comments from the group on your preferences. All suggestions are welcome! 73, Scott N3FJP Serving the Amateur Radio Community with contesting and general logging software since 1997. VHF Log and grid squares
Tim
开云体育Hello Scott!
I used VHF log over this past weekend in the June
contest... it made my life so much easier.? One question:
Have you ever thought about expanding on the grid
square view in the lower right corner?? I found that a lot of grids that I
had worked didn't show as they were outside the group of grids that show in the
existing view.
This is just a question... I love the software
otherwise!

It doesn't sounds as if 60 Meters is going to be included in the contests any time soon.? Other than adding 60 to the band drop down list on ACLog, I'm not sure there is too much to do for support. As always, suggestions are welcome. 73, Scott, N3FJP snkdavis@... Serving the Amateur Radio Community with general logging and contesting software since 1997. CW Spacing
Hi All,
First, I want to thank you all for joining the N3FJP_Software_Users group in addition to the N3FJP_Software ("announcement") group.? The other "announcement" group should work well for sending out information, but this group will be especially useful for me to seek ideas and input from you. As expected, this group is much smaller than the "announcement" group, and I think that is good.? Of course all are welcome, but I think that a smaller core discussion group will work out well. CW Spacing I have received some requests for additional control over the CW spacing that my programs generate.? As you know, right now the only control is speed.? I have started with ACLog to add additional spacing control. This enhancement is not yet available for download or added to the contesting programs.? Retrofitting over 30 programs is a BIG job, so before I do I would love to get some feedback from you on whether the modification as is goes far enough, or if it needs to be fine tuned even further. Anyone who has ACLog version 2.3 installed, uses the CW feature with ACLog or any of my contesting software and would like to evaluate the modification, please send me an e-mail.? The following will happen: - I will e-mail you the .exe file.? You will replace the existing file in c:\program files\aclog23 with the file I e-mail. - Give it a whirl.? Try adjusting the spacing at different speeds and see what you think.? After you have a feel for it then let me know what you think. As always, all your thoughts, ideas and suggestions are very much appreciated. 73, Scott, N3FJP snkdavis@...
