Frequency shift controls.
Hi all,
?
Prepping for NA SSB sprint tomorrow night.? I downloaded latest program version so that is good.? I looked at the shortcuts list because I remember that Scott had added shortcuts to do the big frequency jumps required of all operators after your second contact on a frequency.
?
SSB:
Ctrl + Left / Right(large jump) : +-500 Hz Ctrl + Shift + Left / Right(medium jump) : +-150 Hz Ctrl + Up / Down(small jump) : +-50 Hz Ctrl + Shift + Up / Down(tiny jump) : +-10 Hz Ctrl + PgUp / PgDn (NA Sprint large jump) : +- 5000 Hz Ctrl + Shift + PgUp / PgDn (NA Sprint small jump) : +- 1000 Hz ?
I have an Yaesu FT847 (Yaesu Old/57600/8/2/none).? It propersly tracks my dial frequency and I can send frequency commands via the regular Cntrl-F command, but the above command do not work.??
?
What am I missing?

Re: Download Issue
Hi Don, Thanks for your e-mail.? I'm sorry that you have run into trouble.? Your Internet protection software is clamping down on the installation file.? Giving the installation file the proper permissions in your protection software will remedy that. Re: Missing QSOs
For the first time ever I got the backup questions on restart today. They are crafty in the way it's presented. I'm glad I was following this thread and read Mikes advice on how to handle it. Not that I would have fallen for it but I could now skip past it rather then try to figure out what was being offered.

Re: Pota Plus extension logging to ACL
I've posted this so many times it seems like it should be a pinned post.
You DO NOT need to change your station location in TQSL for each activation! Since April of 2020 TQSL (version 2.5.2) has had an override to use station information contained in the ADIF file. Relevant release note attached. Hi Fred, Thanks for your follow up.? You will find details for loading the standardized POTA template for AC Log here: Enjoy! 73, Scott N3FJP Serving the Amateur Radio community with contesting and general logging software since 1997. 1 Peter 3 vs 15: Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give . But I suppose that might still have problems with LoTW, which I believe requires a new TQSL entry for each new POTA location?
Do most POTA operators also confirm contacts via LoTW?

Re: Pota Plus extension logging to ACL
Fred,
?
Since you asked about LOTW, I believe every POTA operator should upload QSO's to LOTW.? It's as much a curtesy as any QSL.? For hams that want to earn WAS or even 5BWAS, LOTW is much more economical than paper QSL cards, so please make it a habit.
I have activated 34 POTA locations with more than 13K QSO's, all using just N3FJP.? I only have one TQSL.? It's done using tools inside of ACLog.? ?
The basic procedure:
At each location, in Settings/Setup change the Lat/Long, Grid, State and County for the POTA location.? I have my Setup page by default to come up when I start AClog, so I don't forget to change this info.
Operate the park location as normal.? The cool thing is all previous QSO info with a station will come up.? No internet, no problem.? Turn off "look up" and use Scott's free database info if you want.? After the operation, highlight all of the operations QSO's.? File/Export/Selected records and save to your usual location.? That file get's uploaded to POTA.??
Then, setup LOTW for the new location.? Go to eLogs/LOTW.? On the left, under LOTW Location click ADD.? Update grid, zones, state and county. Provide a new station name and click Finish. Now, go back and select the new location under LOTW Location.? Close page.? Highlight all of the new POTA operation QSO's again, click on elogs/LOTW and click "Selected Contacts From Main Form".? It will upload those POTA contacts to LOTW.? You must have setup AClog to work with TQSL certificate and have all of those functions working obviously.??
I also upload the POTA QSO's to elogs/Club Log too. To update QRZ records, I sync those from LOTW.? In QRZ, click your callsign/My Logbook, then Settings and Import. That updates your QRZ records, including LOTW confirmations. ?
You can log park numbers if you want, but frankly, it's on the activator to upload there log for the operation, and it's tied to the park number.? The system will track park to parks, activations and hunters with no effort.
?
I don't need any special software, this is all built into AClog, and works like a dream.
?

Dave - NF6P (51,000 AClog QSO's so far)

Re: Missing QSOs
onedrive?????????????
? onedrive is the? MS storage cloud that is included in every windows OS.?? you get 5 gig free. ?WARNING
when windows is
installed,? the OS will ask if you want
to "back up or protect" files.?
If? you answer yes then onedrive
moves your documents folder (and others) to the onedrive on the pc and the cloud . this also
can happen with a major windows update or if you enable onedrive later.
i have seen new pc's with onedrive enabled already. Be very careful about answering “yes”.? Win 10/11 also ask me often if I want to “backup” my Files”..i always say NO ? you can bypass onedrive at install or updates and enable it later.? i chose to enable it later. under onedrive settings...I chose NOT to “back up” any of my "important folders" (documents/pictures/etc)
Then you can select which folders or files to keep in onedrive. many programs will keep a folder under the "documents" folder including n3fjp. this is the "affimatech" folder.? if you want to keep a copy of any folder or
file that is in
the onedrive folder on your pc...just highlight it..right click..select keep a copy on this pc. ? i have two pc's and a laptop with n3fjp software installed.? one for a ic7300 one for a ic7000 laptop for portable ops all three use the same ACL log file located in a folder i created in the onedrive cloud. the onedrive account is the same on all pc's ( MS account id and password) i only allow one pc to access the log file at one time.? i use the "kiss theory " i have selected one pc to be the "master" for uploading/downloading my log to other services ..ie lotw. ? if you chose to enable onedrive after pc setup and OS install just link it to your MS account.? be sure to look at the "settings" icon for more info. beware of any "do you want to backup your files" msg. you then can create folders as you wish. ? i have not had any problems using onedrive for my log file. if the internet is down, i still have a copy of the file on my pc. ? i would not recommend using onedrive for contests with more than one station.? it is best to use "file sharing". ? hope this helps jim wa4yiz 8/15/2020
