Not quite true.

Windows will not arbitrarily just turn on one-drive.? But any update that forces you to answer questions upon a restart – be very careful what and how you answer.? This is where one-drive took over for me.? And since that day I am real careful when any update needs user input to complete.

This sounds like treachery given that a backup has always been understood to be COPY of files in another location. That places Onedrive in the malware category for me. I have always kept my log files in a dedicated log file folder in the root of my C drive for no real reasons other than to make it easier to navigate to when I need to and easier to share with another computer. Seems that I out-foxed Microsoft meddling in advance (not that Onedrive will ever inhabit this PC).
