Sticky Welcome to the new Support Group
Hi Everyone, Once Tom joins we will get this party going. It will be MUCH easier to converse with him in a group session, especially since he is not on Facebook. I will be placing a timeframe soon for the removal of the FB group. I will let everyone know via announcements. Thanks Chuck K0XM

A humble request for FB housekeeping
Folks, I request that you please, as you join this group- remove yourself from the FB group. That way I can keep track of those who come over, and notify those who have not yet. This will help a TON. I will not post anything in one place only. If there is a message, I will post in both places. I have set Saturday as the day the FB goes away in case you did not see my post. Again thanks for being so co-operative in this matter. Chuck K0XM

Not finding all DMR contacts? 62,649 3
I have v2.66C Contact Manager, and use a codeplug for a TYT MD UV-380 radio. It has been working just fine updating my codeplug, but today when I do a full IMPORT of entire database(WW) it only imports 62,649 I noticed it since there were not DMR ID's beginning with 316, they ended with 315, so explains why so many unknowns. I have kept mine under 10,000 added to the codeplug, using Search parameters of all the states around me in Mid-Atlantic area, but I noticed that I went from about 9700 to 9100 and now 8700 records selected. What am I doing wrong? When doing codeplug work, I use CPS MD-UV380 v1.12 software

Contact Manager imports incorrect DMR ID's from CSV file 7
I'm trying to rebuild an latest firmware CS00D code plug. Somehow, the one in the radio got corrupted, analog working fine, DMR not functional. I used the saved code plug and exported contacts to an Excel file with the CPS, went in and cleaned it up, saved it. Tried to import it into a new file with the CPS and kept getting a server error no matter what I did. So I decided to try contact manager. Created a new plug in the CPS with minimal information, saved it, loaded it into Contact Manager. did a CSV import of the saved Excel file, which I had converted to a CSV file. The DMR addresses were inported as a straight series of number starting with 1. Tried removing the header, same results. Tried moving the DMR ID field to match the order of Contact Manager, and the import failed. I could use the structural import feature, I guess, but I wanted to trim down the contact file and clean up errors as well as remove contacts that were showing the "F...L...C.." sequence (Lord only knows where THAT is coming from...) not re-import the entire contact file. The Excel file I am trying to import has that done and all contacts re-numbered so as to be in the correct sequence. I must be missing something. Any comments welcome. Geep WA4RTS

Contact Manager imports incorrect DMR ID's from CSV file.
Ted Lawrence has shared a OneDrive file with you. To view it, click the link below. custom_contacts_cs800.csv Hi Geep! I had a similar issue when I upgraded the firmware. I had to export the existing code plug with the utility in the CPS for the extended zone channels. Then I updated the firmware and the CPS version afterwards. I then followed the sequence reported here: http://www.connectsystems.com/products/top/radios/CS800D_SOFTWARE.htm All seemed to work okay afterwards. However, I continued to have issues with Contact Manager. I ended up using this site for the contacts and all worked fine: http://www.amateurradio.digital Attached is an updated CS800D contact file I pulled down today. Hope this was helpful Ted KD4EG

Codeplug Channel Generator 4
I threw this Microsoft Access Database together to add DMR Channels to my exported CSV channel file for my Anytone radios. This would be a great idea to add to contact manager. Have a look https://youtu.be/mk5BJtE23bM -- *Frank C. D’Amato KB2MXV* * * *DMR ID: 3116586*

Organize Scan LIsts 3
What is the best option folks use to alphabetize their scan lists? I haven't played with the program at length in some time. I want to alphabetize the scan list to clean things up. I see you can reorder zones but not scan lists. Not seeing where I can export scan lists to excel. Thanks in advance! Andrew/K4AWC

N?GSG DMR Contact Manager Version 2.66D Release to Address AnyTone DCF Load Errors in the AT-D878UV and other Newer Models
All, We just released a minor update, 2.66D, that addresses a newly-discovered issue within AnyTone's DCF files. AnyTone originally accommodated Contact Manager by adding the ability to write "data conversion files" within all versions of their CPS. This is necessary because the actual file formats for individual AnyTone models vary widely, so the DCF file allows us to deal with these with minimal pain. All DCFs employ the same file format as written by AnyTone AT-D868UV CPS 1.21. There are a couple of catches to this approach: 1. Specific features for radios past the original AT-D868UV may not be supported in the DCF format, although it's theoretically possible. 2. The AT-D868 supports "only" 160,000 contacts, so the DCF file was originally limited in the same way within Contact Manager. Right now the DMR user registration database is reporting 160,350 records. I've received reports of Contact Manager failing to load DCFs from AT-D878UV radios. These codeplugs contained more than the allotted 160,000 records originally defined by the limits of the AT-D868. Our solution to this approach is simple. Version 2.66D opens up the maximum contact limit to more than 400,000 records for AnyTone radios. Does this mean that you can now load 400,000 contacts into your trusty AT-D868UV? No! If you attempt to import more than 160,000 records into a codeplug for this older model, Contact Manager will happily oblige you. You can save the DCF with no problems. But loading this DCF codeplug into the wrong AnyTone CPS version (such as for the 868) will likely crash the CPS beyond your wildest dreams. Be very cognizant of this limitation. Because the DCF format is "universal" for AnyTone models, there is no way that Contact Manager can know (at least at this point) what CPS and radio you are working with. This same advice is true for any radios made by AnyTone but branded differently (Alinco, BTECH, and so forth). You can enjoy the enhanced contact capability by downloading version 2.66D from our website at http://n0gsg.com/contact-manager/ Thanks to the hams who helped identify this problem. As always, thanks for your support! Best, Tom -- Tom Wheeler Amateur Radio Station N?GSG Overland Park, KS http://n0gsg.com

Issue with 2.66D not pulling new data - multiple other sources also affected 4
Guys, I was working on my 800D codeplug this weekend, and I noticed the tool is not pulling any new data. When you load the contact sub-screen, you see this: And when I do a compound search for just North America, I get this as a result: There are a few other sites I keep bookmarked, like the lists at web1.foxhollow.ca. His recent lists are completely empty. Anyone know if Tom is aware that his source locations have probably stopped pulling data? I saw a notice on RadioID.net about new API changes coming 7/1/20...

Any New Features Coming? 2
Hey, Tom. Things have been pretty quiet on this list. Are there any new features coming? I am still holding out hope to be able to organize (alphabetize) scan lists. We appreciate the ongoing product support! Thanks, Andrew/K4AWC

AnyTone 868 CPS 2.39 Issue 2
All, It's been a CRAZY 9 months since COVID19 has emerged in the US. I hope that everyone is safe and well. I have confirmed that 868 CPS 2.39 does not write valid DCF files; many of you have reported this problem. These DCF files are not readable by any program I tried (including AnyTone's own CPS software). The issue has been ticketed to AnyTone - we can only hope that it's corrected on the next CPS release. I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks to everyone who reported this problem and responded with codeplugs we could dig into. Tera TR7200/TR7400 Firmware 3.1.17 Compatibility Issue Resolved
Greetings, If you have recently upgraded your Tera TR7200/TR7400 to the latest firmware and CPS (3.1.17), you may find that Contact Manager reports an error upon loading the codeplug saved by the CPS. Tera made a minor change to their codeplug format in this release. This problem has been corrected in the build of Mar 13 2021 11:23:27, which enables Contact Manager to work with the revised Tera codeplug files. To adopt the fix, simply download the latest version of Contact Manager (2.64E, Build March 13 2021) from our website at http://n0gsg.com/contact-manager. Thanks to Jim N0TOA for spotting this problem and bringing it to our attention! Best, Tom N0GSG

Tool update needed (request) - CS800D contact limits
Tom, Now that Jerry has pushed the limit of the radio's contact list to 260,000 contacts via FW MS30.25, can you please update the Contact Manager tool to remove the 130,000 contact limit on DB imports? Thanks & 73! Scott, W2SJW

Anytone 878UVII CPS 2.0 - File error when loading 2
Hello, I recently purchased a Anytone-D878UVII PLUS. I'm using CPS 2.0 for this model. After exporting a base .dcf file from the CPS to Contact manager, then making my changes in contact manager and saving them. When I try to open the file with the CPS I receive a "file error" and it will not load no matter what I do. I know this radio is fairly new so I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue. BTW- Thank you so much for developing this program, it works great with my other DMR radios.!!

Yes, Greg you are correct. I've got a punch list of these to follow up on. Work has been getting in the way of my social life - but being a ham didn't have much of a social life to begin with. ? Best, Tom
