Just checked with a 3.5mm mini plug cable connected to the USB sound card and read 2.98V (0.27mA no load). But I imagine that changes in mic input gain (software: ALSA) can change the voltage

Im a big fan of these 3.5mm plugs https://www.redco.com/Rean-Neutrik-NYS231BG.html And practice the soldering a it before soldering the capsule leads. You will be fine. I use 63/37 solder. For wire

Hi James, The second board with the 3-pin plug is for connecting an electret without built-in FET to a phantom powered XLR mic input. It has the K596 FET on board next to the mic input pads. Read

There is a version of the capsule with pins instead of solder pads. Safer and easier to solder, I imagine.

Just use a stereo plug and connect (solder) tip and ring together to (+) wire. Sleeve solder to wire shield and then to (-) at the capsule. Partial insertions are not fun. 3V is nominal. Operating
