Re: Electrets (AOM-5024) and Simple P48.
Great to see your sucesss. I love when I have recorded something with a AOM5024, someone complements the recording then asks what mic I used¡

Re: Electrets (AOM-5024) and Simple P48.
In early June i bought several AOM-5024 mics from Digikey. I went for the felt-fronted ones because they were a bit cheaper than the ones with holes, and out of a hope that they would be slightly

Re: AOMs-5024 in enclosures from China
I changed my delivery-adress from Germany to other Countries, and so i saw they will sell it for example to Poland, USA, etc. but unfortunately not to Germany (or Austria).
Strange.

Re: AOMs-5024 in enclosures from China
That's interesting.
Do you have an account (with your address etc)? And have you logged in?
Me being logged in, when I atempted? to "buy" [jetz kaufen] the mic from your link, I got proper delivery

Re: AOMs-5024 in enclosures from China
Great !
I used more or less these on the same build . But I ordered it last year and the enclosure was made out of aluminum, can¡¯t find anymore of these . What are these made of ? Plastic or

Re: AOMs-5024 in enclosures from China
Thank you,
seams to be a good and cheap solution!
Don't know why, but unfortunately they don't sell this really cheap enclosure to Germany.
Maybe these have the same 10mm

Re: Another mystery mic board
Good Day! I received my set of VooDoo circuit boards and tested them briefly. They work with both electret and true condenser capsules and sound ... um ... OK, I guess. I am not equipped to do

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
Thanks Richard, valuable stuff!
A word of caution about noise simulations: assuming many of us will be using LTspice, then first check the JFET models you use. Many of the JFETs in the standard.jft

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
The MOST important thing is to have the rest of the microphone body sealed from the cavity behind the cardioid capsule.? So your conductor/spring needs to be a close fit to its hole and the 'cone' to

#2 made sense 50 years ago when circuit noise dominated capsule noise. It¡¯s easy to build a low-noise circuit now, which means capsule noise dominates ¡ª especially for small diaphragms.

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
I've been reading up on how companies make the noise measurements (IEC 60268-4 Clause 16.2 - A Weighting and ITU Weighting).
There's two common methods: 1) putting the mic in an anechoic chamber, and

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
Hmm, 300¡ãC extrusion temperature and? 120¡ãC bed temperature are beyond my UM2+ capabilities. The PTFE tube is a good idea, if you can find a suitable pogo pin with same diameter as the inside

I was fascinated that anybody believed a claim of 9dBA for an SDC¡ especially for a Chinese mic that sells for $44 ($89 for the pair).
The manufacturing cost on those is probably about $12 per

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
You shouldn't. Specs for T-Bone products are often measured with a wet-o-fingermeter.
I could order one and manage to ship it to you.

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
You can order direct from Thomann, but be prepared for the $50 shipping. They ship UPS Express.
It has hundreds of positive reviews so can't be all that bad.

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
I am interested as well Eric. There is nothing special about their schematic other than it looks like only one side is driven on the XLR and the other is impedance balanced. That would measure

one to test but apparently it's not available in the US. Can anyone tell
me how to get one?

Re: T.Bone SC140 schematics
Oof, yeah that's pretty specialized.
I know Igus makes an array of filament and lists a lot of specs on it. They might have a solution. But I really like Henry's suggestion of using a PTFE insert.
