Re: Would you buy a capsule if it looked like this?
One thing to consider. I had an experience this morning with an inexpensive 34mm element that added a plastic ring, It was green, a nice addition, looked nice, but when I tried to put it into the

Howdy Pierre. Did you find a useful dynamic cartridge to revive your old microphone handles? I have had fairly good results with some models found on eBay for under $10 US over the past couple of

Re: Would you buy a capsule if it looked like this?
To me the ring looks fine. If I am building with the same case shell for different mics, I would like different color rings. Like dark red or black. Other than that most of the time its hard to see

Re: Would you buy a capsule if it looked like this?
It depends on how I move forward. I'm at a crossroads where I'm deciding whether I want to do boutique volumes or try to break 3U's (supplies Warm, Telefunken USA etc) current monopoly on high-end OEM

Re: Would you buy a capsule if it looked like this?
well, caveat, these things are true in specification, but i think some adaptations were made for manufacturing, ie using 0.6mm metric bits for the thru holes

i am fairly certain in fact that i have arrived at the original specification for this backplate sans all manufacturing variance, with a few changes like screw size etc

It's an exact anatomical copy of a real k67 with all measurements and placement of everything exactly the same. FR charts and whatnot will come soon. I was actually thinking of using POM, do you have

Re: Would you buy a capsule if it looked like this?
It looks nice.? What are the specs, size, frequency response?? Also, what type of plastic is it?? I have seen enough plastics become brittle over just a few years.

Re: tiny neutrik transformers
Sonic "colour" is such a matter of acquired taste, only you can judge if it suits you. Personally, I want to get as little as possible, but i've heard several pieces of audio gear using these xfmrs

Re: Would you buy a capsule if it looked like this?
I wonder if any colour dye in the plastic will affect its electrically insulative properties.? I imagine the Neumann surround is just the colour of the untreated plastic. Jack

Hi Ari, I also think the capsules (and the plastic ring) look lovely. What would the price point be for one, and where will you be shipping from? I am just asking because I am in Europe. Thanks in

Re: tiny neutrik transformers
So is it just the power handling that limits the performance compared to larger high-end transformers? Or are there other differences? Is there anything to watch out for when driving the transformer

Re: tiny neutrik transformers
These transformers are of very good quality, but due to their small size, power handling is also very small. One has to include that in their expectations. Studer have made extensive use of these
