well, caveat, these things are true in specification, but i think
some adaptations were made for manufacturing, ie using 0.6mm
metric bits for the thru holes

i am fairly certain in fact that i have arrived at the original
specification for this backplate sans all manufacturing
variance, with a few changes like screw size etc

so for the past few months i've been taking a
scale-calibrated microscope to a few k67 samples and after
averaging out all of the runout, tolerances etc have come to
the conclusion that the construction is insanely simple. every
single measurement on this capsule (in its specification at
least) is either a whole number or a simple fraction. the grid
pattern is just a 22 by 22 grid of holes 2mm apart where the
holes outside the center circle are not drilled. the blind
holes are 3 2/3mm deep at the point exactly (about 3.4mm deep
to the barrel). the through holes are 2/3rds of a mm wide,
etc. it's funny that i started this project thinking that I'd
get every measurement correct to the highest precision
possible, because if anything every measurement on the
backplate is aggressively rounded. The more backplates I
inspected, the simpler the model got...

It's an exact anatomical copy of a real k67
with all measurements and placement of everything exactly
the same. FR charts and whatnot will come soon. I was
actually thinking of using POM, do you have any suggestions?
I was thinking POM because it's really dimensionally stable
and it doesn't have a plasticizer to dry out over time

It looks nice.? What are the specs,
size, frequency response?? Also, what type of
plastic is it?? I have seen enough plastics become
brittle over just a few years.
