Re: A cheap XLR adapter to use 3.5mm microphones with phantom power. Is it worth ?
Do you have a link for the adaptor you're trying? I can't see much detail in your photos. Also, please post some pix of your mics. That board looks like it has 3 transistors on it, so it might be

Re: A cheap XLR adapter to use 3.5mm microphones with phantom power. Is it worth ?
I don't know this brand but I've tested some cheap XLR to Plugin adapters. The 3,5mm Jack is not very reliable and these are sometimes wrongly connected. I had one that shorted the PiP when using a

A cheap XLR adapter to use 3.5mm microphones with phantom power. Is it worth ?
Hello everyone, I'm a beginner. I've made a pair of microphones using the Primo EM273 for my Sony A6600 camera. Recently, I bought a Zoom H6 recorder, so I need an adapter to connect the microphones.

Beige lavalier wire
Somebody on a facebook mic building group showed off a very nice lavalier mic, but complained about the lack of availability of beige ("flesh" for some folks) lavalier wire. As it happens, we have a

Re: Astatic D104
Not sure where you can buy original elements, except maybe a CB shop. There is a Ham radio operator, W2ENY, sells replacement kits using an Electret element on Ebay. You can google W2ENY and find his

Re: Schoeps CCM disassembly
Thanks. Tried to open it but no dice. Don't want to risk and heat the glue to lighten the grip. This is more problematic than I expected. Will forward to the proper service company then.

Schoeps CCM disassembly
I have a CCM4 mic that seems to have a bad contact or cold solder joint inside between the Lemo connector and internal PCB. Does anybody know how to disassemble this mic?

Re: Opic microphone
I have an SMD version that I designed. The link you have goes to a member of the group so hopefully he will respond. I designed the circuit and released that part as open source CCC. WIth that said,

Re: Strange Simple P48 readings
Sort of, but that's an incomplete explanation. NO. The FET in the capsule is part of an active circuit; you can't just "measure the resistance" with an ohmmeter across the pins of a capsule. It's

Re: Strange Simple P48 readings
Look at the DC path from Ground up through the external resistor, the FET then Pin3, the 6.8K resistor to the 48V. Without the capsule there is no circuit path. With the FET biased correctly, you have
