Re: Which mics to us to record the growth of bamboo shoots?
Hey there, small correction ¨C Geof¨®n is not piezo based, but it has a geophone element ¨C coil suspended on springs around a magnetic core. I would also try it for this project :) Regards, Jonas

Re: Which mics to us to record the growth of bamboo shoots?
Under the heading ¡°crazy ideas¡± I have an experimental microphone to offer. It is based on 7 AOM-5024L-HD-R capsules. SNR is around 87 dB. Unfortunately, I don't have any bamboo growing here. Here

LOM Geofon is a magnetic piezo mic that could be attached to a steel plate or a stake driven into the ground to pick up what's happening beneath the soil. I used one of these very sensitive vibration

Which mics to us to record the growth of bamboo shoots?
Hi all Recently I took a night recording at a bamboo forest where bamboo shoots were sprouting from the ground all over the place. This type of bamboo shoot can grow up to 110 cm per day (5 cm/h). No

Re: offcenter virtual ground, opamp mic with transformer
The other things that may be going on are secondary virtual ground conductance passes that affect the two 47K resistors, the transformer, i don't know exactly. The virtual ground works well with AC
