Re: WTD: Manual, Schematic, Information: Dictaphone Reproducer Amplifier

FWIW, the 5879 was a low noise tube used in many low level audio
amplifiers, often as a microphone pre-amp. Dates around the mid 1950s or
later.

Hi Mark,

That looks like FAA Air Traffic Control recording system equipment for sure, probably the predecessor to the system I had some years ago. Built rugged and I wouldn¡¯t be surprised if some of it is still in service somewhere! I had hopes of putting the two recorders I had into service at a recording studio but the audio bandwidth was intentionally limited to voice and couldn¡¯t be stretched much above that so music was definitely out of range.

Completely off topic - are you related to Joel Dinsmore?

And have we worked on 6 m FT8? I¡¯m away from the main PC or I could check my log on LoTW.?

Hi Steve,
Yes, I'll add some more pictures below. The tape unit, denoted as a Dictaphone Multi Chanel Reproducer was a two channel recorder, photo of nameplate below. The Amplifier, ID'd as Reproducer amplifier. And the third piece of the lot was a cart with name plate, "Mobile Table," also tagged with Dictaphone as Mfg.

The amplifier appears to be mil-spec, pretty standard SE amp with a tube compliment; 5Y3GT, 5789, 5789, 12ax7 6AU6 with a single-ended 6L6WGB. I would guess mid-1960's tech.

Re: WTD: Manual, Schematic, Information: Dictaphone Reproducer Amplifier

More pictures would be helpful. I suspect it is an audio amp used in systems for recording and reproducing aviation over-the-air communications. At one time I had several large reel-to-reel tape recorders made for the FAA by Magnasync-Moviola and I seem to recall the interface panels had inputs labeled ¡°Dictaphone¡±. Perhaps your unit was used to amplify and distribute the audio to multiple tape recording systems?

Best regards,

Steve

WTD: Service manual for California Instruments AC source FCS-18

This is an 18 kW 3 phase 45-512 Hz ac power source.

The full model number is FCS18-3PT-HV3-MODE-OR-PRC-704

Unit said to be working except for some wonkiness on one of the output phases.

California Instruments was bought by another company and they have not responded to any inquiries (email, web form, or returned calls).

Any help finding a manual for this 1200 pound item sitting in my garage would be much appreciated!

Re: Meterman / Amprobe HD160B calibration procedure

Thanks, I found the user manuals for the C and B revision already, but I'm looking for the calibration procedure which is a separate document and not included in the user manual.

I contacted Amprobe (aka Fluke) and they told me they don't have the document i'm looking for :/

Anyway, I was poking around and found how to calibrate most of the mode (DCV, ACV, Amps, Continuity). The resistance mode still elude me though.

Hello,

I'm looking for the Meterman / Amprobe HD160B multimeter calibration procedure.

Also if anyone has the service manual I would also be interested.

Thanks,

Anritsu MS68A spectrum analyzer- any docs, manuals?

All,

Does anyone have a datasheet, Operating, or Service Manual for the Anritsu MS68A spectrum analyzer?
Haven't found anything while checking the many manual sites.
Anritsu, Japan noted that support stopped on 1 April 2000.
Are there any Anritsu Catalog PDFs that show it?

thanks, Ron

The is no service manual for the 2945 on K04BB's site, There is a 2945A service manual, but the 2945 and 2945A are NOT the same.

Hickok Model 5700 solid state multimeter

I cannot find any documentation for this thing and I'd love to get it calibrated.
I would not have thought this meter is some rare gem.?

Re: Marconi test set 2945 #Marconi

On? KO4BB are the service manuals .
I have a 2945 myself.
Only once I had a problem with the set. An OMxxx IC was defective.
