Marconi Test Instruments [email protected]

This Group is the successor to the former Yahoo Group of the same name.

90 years of MARCONI Instruments - August 2026
¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª
Anything related to the OLD, but excellent, Test & Measurement Instruments made by the well known British Firm "MARCONI INSTRUMENTS"

MARCONI was sold to IFR Systems Inc. (n 1998), then IFR was acquired by Aeroflex (in 2002), becoming Cobham (in 2014) and currently Viavi Solutions (in 2017) - to date!
Many of the latest MARCONI / IFR brand test equipment were supported until recently by VIAVI!
However there is no longer any current production of any of the MARCONI products as the current business has turned away from general instrument manufacture.
Instead, it now focuses on 5G telecommunication equipment.

Regrettably it is most unlikely they still have stock of any spare parts for your MARCONI equipment.
However, since the original sale of Marconi from the former GEC group, the brand name has changed again & again and currently is ¡®Viavi Solutions¡¯.

Equipment such as the Marconi 2955 Radio Communication Test Set, or the excellent Marconi 2305 2GHz Modulation meter, and all other older test instruments from Marconi are still in use worldwide.
Less well known, although equally prominent, Marconi were also European leaders in ATE systems (Automatic Test Equipment), much of which is still in use with many major manufacturers of
products we would all know and recognise. This is probably the only product range that is still actively supported.

If you like to share your knowledge on repairs, programming, adjusting or just using this fine T&M equipment, here is a place to do so!
And of course anyone can ask anything about them also...
Sharing the knowledge about them, and keep them "alive" !

NOTE: Always check "Files" folder for newer manuals & download anything as the group admins will "recycle" them every month to make space for newer uploads from everyone! So its better to keep a copy on your hard disk ;) FYI we always arrange to keep a copy on an HDD of everything uploaded there for later quotation from a new or an old member.
