Re: Lathe Threading
Thanks. Yes, like my ELS, a fundamental rule for 1 PPR threading is that the spindle must not change under threading load. Normally that's not a lot anyway with a few thou per pass. And my ELS

Re: Lathe Threading
I am using LinuxCNC for threading because of the issue you have mentioned. With Mach3 I was getting incorrect pitch on the first 2 turns because of the load slowing down the motor. LinuxCNC does a

Lathe Threading
Quick question. Both MACH2/3 use a 1 PPR index for threading. Don't know about MACH4. LinuxCNC requires both 1 PPR for the start of the G-Code and after that requires the multiple pulses for

Re: Using wizards to run parts
I would do the axles between centers. Then rough out the OD of the wheels, and finish the front and back sides of them on an arbor. Then mount the wheels onto the axles and true up the wheel OD's as

Re: Using wizards to run parts
For the wheel I would spend some time making a shouldered arbour to hold the blank and turn between centres. This will allow the part to be machined on both sides if required and also allow it to be
Re: Using wizards to run parts
I'm the wrong to ask this question as I do not do turning. Having said that, I think what you are looking for is M30 at end of your program it marks the end and rewinds it ready to start again. If you

Using wizards to run parts
Sooo... Looking for guidance on using the wizards to run these parts. I'm without a full-fledged CAM program, and these parts seem simple enough. FWIW, I'm running Mach3 on a Compact 5 CNC PC with a

Thanks guys for your valuable info. problem is now solved thus far. When I finish all the wiring and go over? everything a second time and power-up I probably will be coming back to the forum one way

Thanks, I occured to me that I have a bigger challenge, I am driving 8 steppers, 4 to a gang rotary on the x axis, need 2 for y and 2 for my x, to lift 4 spindles and a laser mod on each spindle

Re: slaves
You can have a Master and up to 5 slaves on one axis. You will find the setup on the Configure > Control > AxisMapping tab. Steve Stallings PMDX _____ Sent: Thursday, December 31, 2020 1:13

Re: 34HE stepper motors
Stepper motors have 2 or more coils. Given that you have four wires, I'd assume your motors have 2 x coils. These can be easily identified by using a multimeter. A bit of guess work might be needed as
