Re: Z axis its not coming back up to 0 while cutting stars.

After re-reading of the problem, Steve’s suggestion seems more applicable in this case.?

Re: Z axis its not coming back up to 0 while cutting stars.

Hi John,
it may be that the acceleration for the Z axis is set too high. This results in lost steps when the Z axis rapids upwards.
Try reducing the Z axis acceleration by 25% and see if that helps.?

?Cheers?
Peter

Are you running?with Constant Velocity enabled, G64 mode? Doing so will result in X and Y starting to move before Z is fully retracted as the motion planner does blending of the moves to avoid slowing down. Try running in Exact Stop using G61 mode.

? ? ? ? ?I'm cutting unions for flags. I noticed that my Z axis was not coming all the way up from neg. Z. Is there a setting in Mach3 that would tell the machine to do this? I've checked my steps on the machine and they are right on. I dont have a clue why it started doing this. This is what I have a windows 10 machine, I use mach 3. I have a custom built 5ftx5ft machine. Any help would much appreciated. Thanks

recently opened

Mach 4 maintains a recently opened files list. Even if a file has been deleted from the disc and i have accidentally tried to open it and get a message that it no longer exists it stays in the list. This is really annoying since i have similarly named files and can forget which is the correct one.

As with most other programs this list should have non existing files purged. It makes no sense to keep them around forever.

Also is there an update with some bug fixes?

Re: mach 4 limit switch oddity

issue resolved itself without my doing anything. would like to know what might have screwed it up to begin with so i know what to do if it happens again. and i am not imagining this i tried over and over and voer and then it fixed itself?

I have to disable the motor and manually turn the motor to get it off the switch and then it is fine but I really want to be able to jog off switches the normal way.

Is there a setting that might have changed itself that I can restore?

screens

the new screen editor for mach4 is much better than mach3, it actually works. but i hate repeated boring tasks. i did manage to get the text so i can read it but i just picked my favorite colors and might want to change them some day. is there a file for the screens maybe an xml that i can edit and do global subs instead of changing the color for each button? i might decide at some point that i do not like purple :)

Hi Guys,

?

Long time since I’ve been here. I’m using my Mach 3 controlled mills after a couple of years hiatus. I’m trying to remember how to move an axis by .001 when using a zero finder to the side of a piece of stock on the X or Y axis. I’m able to run programs and move the table around using the direction buttons on the keyboard but cannot for the life in me remember how to get mach to allow me to move in incredibly small increments.

?

Anyone know what I’m talking about and how to do it?

?

Thanks a ton,

Re: mach4 version 2

Spencer:

I'm pretty sure that you are already running version 2 of the Mach4 software.

Version 2 has been around for at least 6 years.

Re: success and screens for mach4

thanks, i'll try it, the mach3 was full of bugs and unexpected behavior.i only need to change some type and colors so i can read it otherwise the stock screen is fine for me.

My router is finally working perfectly thanks to mach4. My only problem is that I can not see much of the stock screen very well. A bundh of buttons are gray on gray and my old eyes do not see the type. also some things like run time indicator are so small that the type is indistinguishable. too small for the resolution.

Are there any better screens available yet. I will check the site but maybe there are screens not shown there

Cheap far east BoB

开云体育

If you google MACH3 Interface Board you will get a large number of hits with photos of a Break Out Board that looks like this and depending on the source can be as low as $4.?

Needless to say documentation is found wanting and even labeling is suspect.? For example I tweaked the attached photo so that the Z limit is marked with P15 rather than P14.? When I was connecting to slotted sensors for spindle RPM measurement I found that the limit switch inputs weren't pulled to 5V but to 10V.

?

So after spending about a day doing some reverse engineering I created a schematic.? Not all components have designators so I didn't bother.? It also wasn't worth the time creating a quad resistor array component so I just used an 8 resistor unit twice. ?Instead of 3 of the 4 resistor unit ones.

?

Some of the traces were a bit hard to follow but I think I got the gist of it right.
