2. ?Is withholding medical treatment based on vaccination status ethical?

Re: Friday Five December 31
Happy New Year! 1.? What pone book do you? most regret never reading? I cheated and Googled. Google tells me I meant to type phone as well. Insisting, I got a single reference to Manga art, a link to author Darrell Pone's one book, and a series of books by Semisi Pone. Of the latter list (), I have decided the composting toilet title is most intriguing. I am current converting a Bluebird?short bus into a skoolie and so the topic is one I have been researching. 2.? Is withholding medical treatment based on vaccination status ethical? As an acute measure against immediate infection in the facility, it has both precedent and valid science behind it, so I lean toward approving that use. As a means of segregating the new underclass of Undesirables, I would lean away. The divisive?nature of the escalating hullabaloo worries me. I am soon expecting to see big Yellow U's on the breasts of unvaccinated people. I read somewhere LA was passing an ordinance to get?Unvaccinated masses to ride in the backs of the buses? Another rumor has a bill in the New York State legislature?authorizing the detainment of these undesirables for unlimited duration. Gonna need more concentration?camps for that one. As a healthcare profession with two doses of Moderna in me, I support vaccinations in general and science-based approaches to problem-solving. I am less supportive of social bandwagons, hysterical hype, politically-generated agenda-driven enemies or supremacy ideologies.? 3.? Do you think book banning based on a popular idea of what is appropriate is appropriate? No. The monitoring and regulating of certain venues may be appropriate. I have not found pronography sections in public school libraries to the best of my memory, for instance. Society-wide government-regulated banning is a slippery slope, though. 4. How can we overcome censorship? I think the time-honored approach is the grassroots efforts to illegally propagate the materials. Beyond that, investigative?reporting? The efforts to control the environment in order to serve mental perspectives?have been around for a hot minute, though. I think new efforts will arise as fast as old ones are shot down or fulfilled. Beyond a massive Awakening of the population majority, I am not sure we can 'overcome' this innate human mind tendency. 5.? What was the worst prediction you saw in 2021? Heh. Anything that says we are in control of a world that features rapid-fire globally record-setting weather events, worldwide escalations of violence and social disintegration of cooperative law, confidently asserting a wildfire virus is under human control, denial of the disastrous?pattern of other?spreading diseases such as bird and swine flu, or the subtly increasing disintegration of the social infrastructure. The stubbornly optimistic and comfortably isolated perspectives?that do not pause a moment to scratch their heads and wonder what is all this? My stepson: 'COVID is all a government ruse that?will disappear after the (2020) presidential election'. Until the moment he and his family caught it, anyway...:) |

Cosmetic surgery should be delayed until the possibility of the patient spreading covid to the medical staff is no longer an issue 3.? Do you think book banning based on a popular idea of what is appropriate is appropriate? I imagine there are limits, like terrorism manuals showing how to concoct bio weapons, for instance. 4. 开云体育What is a "pone book"? It's just a way to prioritize cases when a medical facility is overwhelmed. No, it's an infringement of First Amendment rights. It's not a problem in the U.S. and other countries have their own priorities. I can't think of any. Aloha, Celeste |

1. Do you know any one personally who has died from the collateral damage of the government's response to the COVID pandemic?
No.
2. Have you in any way been denied or put off treatment because of the COVID pandemic?
No. In fact, I had pneumonia and have seen quite a few doctors in the past month. My dentist has also been here.
3. Were you surprised by the verdict in the Jesse Smollet criminal trial in Chicago?
Not really.
4. Do you feel that the average citizen can tell you what happened eighty years ago Tuesday?
Not without looking it up. But mention Pearl Harbor, and most people will know what it is.
5. Have you ever considered how historical perspective changes for people of different generations?
Not until now. I like Marvin’s answer that those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it.Amy

开云体育1. A security guard protecting a TV camera crew from a smash and grab flash mob was shot and killed in Oakland Saturday? ?Is this an indication of escalating violence or anomaly?
I believe violence will escalate.
2. ?Should rioters who break windows with crowbars and hammers be met with lethal force by security guards?
It depends if there's a threat to a human life or if it's just vandalism.
3. ?Do you support the death penalty - if so for what crimes?
I'm against the death penalty because too many innocent people have been incarcerated and/or executed. Murderers should be given life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. I also feel it's not civilized to take a human life;
however, people who have committed a heinous crime must be kept behind bards to keep the rest of us safe.
4. ?Who should be charged criminally when a self-driving car runs over and kills a pedestrian?
I think self-driving cars is an insane idea.
5. ?What exactly is a crime - and why?
A crime is an action or an omission stipulated in your penal code system with a specific punishment. There has to be guilt and a crime must be legally justified.

2 ? How would you define a newspaper in the modern world?
I define it as digital information.

Re: [M-Positive} The Truth About Critical Methods
Thank you. It's not a doctorate, but equivalent to the 4years after US highschool. Usually doctorate comes after. In my case, I already have a university degree in International Commerce, so this is my second degree (only add 2 years of study, instead of 4). A colegue will be doing a masters degree, probably next year, but I plan on starting something else, maybe systems? Anyway, it's not a surprise to have this critical justice movement in Argentina. Keep in mind that social differences not only arise by skin color and we've had a "Justicialist Movement" as a political party for 70+ years now, having being in and out covering more or less half that period... Every body agrees that there are different chances and life quality in Argentina, with "pockets" of poverty or not able people, who mostly have been on social care for the last 20 years or so. Of course, considerations of why this happens and how to solve it are the matter of discussion... Rgds Slds Anabel Pérez Bemporat Despachante de Aduana Lic. Comercio Internacional? Re: [M-Positive} The Truth About Critical Methods
I'm currently studying for proffesorship (I'm not sure of the english term) and our professors clearly stated they belong to the critical theory in Education. I'm seeing much of what this mand Lindsay says, but in a subtler way and recalling local authors. It's an interesting point of view, specially in a developing country as Argentina where many people may identify themselves for their shortage of opportunities as a result of social structures (and they might probably be right). Me, being a bachelor in International Commerce from a liberal university, have critical thinking... about critical thinking, hahaha. However, I'm not dismissing the movent, since they are very -very- high up in local politics and education policy makers and are impulsing an educational revolution. Marvin wrote:
1.? Should voting be mandatory
No. People who do not want to would just tick random boxes anyway. It is an ineffective solution to whatever it would be trying to address.
2.? Is the current vaccination resistance the beginnings of a revolution Has the potential to be. Also might be the beginnings of a new second class citizenship category--I remember reading the Los Angeles (Ca, US) was trying to regulate The Unvaccinated to sit in dedicated separate sections of public spaces, including the back of public transit buses. I have seen that wording elsewhere in history, I think. By itself, probably not sparing a revolution, but there are many other ingredients in this pot.
3.? Has anyone you have known personally died with COVID this year Counting patients? If we believe the medical conclusions regarding causes of death, which I do for the most part, then I can say a dozen at least. I have not counted, but I have been working in a nursing home since June of 2020 and we lost a few early on to COVID and to COVID-related complications of other conditions. I had COVID in January, with COVID-induced pneumonia, and the breathing difficulty was enough to concern me. I am healthy with no baseline chronic respiratory conditions. 4.? Are you seeing empty shelves in stores on a regular basis 5.? Do you think there will be another resurgance of COVID in the next three months Yes. There is already a worrisome DELTA-descended variant concerning Great Britain. The odds are the virus will continue to mutate and some mutations will enhance its survival strategies. There are also the mutually-reinforcing impacts of other disease processes and of social system stressors that will influence our ability to cope and respond as a society. Multiple factors involved that leave me leaning toward a yes on this topic. |
