Celeste mentioned a nationalist aspect, and considering the original politics that made it popular before wwii, it would seem so. However, checking the RAE (Spanish Royal Academy, the main authority on spanish language), it says:
1. m. Ant.: antifascismo.
? ? It has no mention of nationalism. ?Why would that be? ?
2.? Should a new president be allowed to hire private entities to vet his appointees?
?Why not? As long as it's within budget. ?
3.? Were you surprised by the apparent outcome of the presidential election?- remembering that the actual election doesn't occur?until the electoral college votes?
Ahh, true. But still, ?has ever the electoral college change the outcome? ?
4.? What is the strangest rumor you have heard this election season?
Celeste mentioned pets being eaten. There's a saying in Spanish: "gato por liebre", meaning someone can be fooled (eating a cat instead of a wild rabbit). Also, there used to be rumors that chinese restaurants used rats and cats instead of chicken and beef. ?But what does any of it have to do with the elections? ?
5.? Do you expect major unrest after the election?
Not withing the US regarding politics. The rest of the world... we have other issues.

Celeste Answered:? "It was the false accusation that Haitian immigrants in Ohio were eating people's pets."
And Darrell Wryly Noted: Just hit Walmart for groceries?while we are grounded in NE Arizona awaiting vehicle service. It Cost $300?to walk out the door and the cart was not overfilled nor extravagantly filled! If that does?not stop soon, I will be looking at the neighbor's chubby dog with a bit of salivation...?

1.? What

Fascism is a populist political philosophy, movement, or regime that
exalts nation and often race above the individual. It is associated
with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial
leader, and that is characterized by severe economic and social
regimentation and by forcible suppression of opposition. This is
exactly what Donald Trump proposes.
2.?

Only if the new president pays for it and no government subsidy is
allowed.

Yes. Many people were fooled.
