Setting up Ethernet using a microRouter - zoom meeting - sunday 10:30 AM
Hi Folks i am going to do a zoom meeting on using a microRouter to setup?ethernet for your Gemini Even if you do not have a microRouter I think it will be helpful to anyone wanting to understand how to use ethernet and a bit of networking to connect your Gemini.? in order to join, you will need to?have a?computer with audio capabilities (at least a?speaker to hear things, and a microphone if you want to ask questions verbally. there is also chat if you don't have that) and zoom setup. if you don't already have?zoom, now is a good time to download and install it?? I picked a time that tried to balance requests from all over the world - sorry NZ and Aus, it's going to be a little early for you anyone is welcome to attend. there is a waiting room to help moderate and keep potential trolls from joining Brian Valente is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting. Okey Dokey, all set. (I hope! LOL!)
If I don't manage to make it, look for me wondering around in the parking lot. ;^) (Not really, please continue and don't wait.) I'd like to get the gist of this, whether or not I ever do it. One idea I have is for remote sites, with no router or VPN. Say like camping, for example. Since the Gemini 2 is already capable of Ethernet. First Question: What Brand/Model router? And will it need AC power? Or 12 Volt? At a remote site it might make a difference. -- SonnyE (I suggest viewed in full screen) |
Yes - this totally works for remote sites and also for remote access? I was up on Mt Pinos (about an hour from here, but seems farther) and it was terribly cold i was able to grab my setup from my driveway, get up there, hook it to a battery, and once i was polar aligned i ran everything from the relative warmth of my car. The microRouter was certainly part of that On Sat, Apr 25, 2020 at 9:49 AM Sonny Edmonds <sonnyedmonds@...> wrote: Okey Dokey, all set. (I hope! LOL!) --
