Re: Gemini 2 Unable to Connect Telescope via Direct Ethernet
PS. I couldn't read your network adapter names (you must be sure the adapter properties are for the right Network Interface. (just unplug the cable from the pc and you will see the proper network

Re: Gemini 2 Unable to Connect Telescope via Direct Ethernet
Motofix, Please change your PC's Preferred DNS to 192.168.1.100 as well and it will work. Open your PC's browser to 192.168.1.110 and you should get the Gemini_2's login prompt. (Also disable

Re: Gemini 2 Unable to Connect Telescope via Direct Ethernet
Brian: Not sure what you mean. As shown below, the HC and Computer connections are made and are not removed during or after set up: HC with coil cord - HC Port Yellow Ethernet cable - Gemini 2

Sonny, I should ask you the same thing :) Paul

Re: PEC Training - PEMPro or Use PHD2?
Hi Jim Yes PEMPro as I mentioned before, you really don't want to go this route for imaging.

Re: Chicken Nebula
Beautiful! Nice to see what you can get down under. Since you are already upside down, do you find your images are right side up in your refractors? -- SonnyE Sonny's Youtube Channel (

Re: Gemini 2 Unable to Connect Telescope via Direct Ethernet
I think I'm giving up on this Ethernet stuff. 1. My mount computer does not have Ethernet capabilities. No port, and my USB/Ethernet adapter doesn't seem to let the computer even see the Gemini 2. 2.

Re: Chicken Nebula
Thanks Michael. lol. That's true Arun but we feel the same about Andromeda. I did M8 in an infrared blend from QLD in 2017. Bit unusual but interesting:

Re: RMS vs photos
Thanks! Adds in quadrature, yes, I tend to forget that. RMS is an interesting and useful number, but as you have shown, it really helps to understand it more in depth. Best, Magnus Den 2020-06-24

Re: PEC Training - PEMPro or Use PHD2?
My Bad - I meant PEMPro.? I corrected the text.? With the Gemini-2 HC you can PEC train the mount.? I would then use PHD2 "Predictive PEC" to Further refine the PEC. FYI *PHD2 Predictive PEC

Re: PEC Training - PEMPro or Use PHD2?
Hi Jim if you are imaging, PEMPro is pretty?much the only game. PECPro can't program the mount, and i'm not sure how you would use PHD2, but it would be too coarse and noisy. (PS - I assume you
PEC Training - PEMPro or Use PHD2?
Is it worth the extra effort to train my Losmandy GM811G using PEMPro or should I just use PHD2?? I will be using a star near the celestial equator like Lorenzin Zeta AQR.? PEMPro is somewhat
Re: Gemini 2 Unable to Connect Telescope via Direct Ethernet
Hi Ron work. it won't work until you connect the computer please do send pics of the hand controller. i suspect that setup is where there may be an issue [email protected]> wrote: --

Brian: Thanks for the quick reply. I will swap out the old cable for a new, 20'? cat 6 cable and take photos of the hand controller ip addresses. The Losmandy/GPS receiver is connected to the Gemini

Re: Chicken Nebula
So not only do you have these DSOs optimally placed but also 35 hours of clear sky time to image each of them. Hardly seems fair. Beautiful image!

Re: RMS vs photos
Magnus - Noise adds in quadrature. The reported RMS numbers are standard deviations, comprised of different effects (eg. noise, mount mechanics) each with their own individual RMS values or standard

Re: Gemini 2 Unable to Connect Telescope via Direct Ethernet
How recent is your laptop? gemini is powered on, right? (i have to check :) ) I have to look at this some more but two things come to mind to check: 1. can you try a different ethernet cable? 2.
