Re: Gemini 1 just gone haywire
Ian, Thanks to Bren's expertise, we repairers (Bren in Australia, David Partridge in UK, and me in the USA) have been able to repair handsets too. They fail very rarely. The code coming from the

Re: Gemini 1 just gone haywire
Ian Ok? few thoughts. If you want either Michael or I have replacement HCs (Michaels closer, in USA...I'm a long way away, Australia). But that would mean swapping parts without diagnosis of proof.

Re: G11 compass recommendation
look up local noon where you are on NOAA solar calculator or other site. There is a phone app as well. Any vertical pole around or stake you put in, the shadow cast will be the exact rotational axis

Re: Time Sensitive - No Limits
Hey, Derek. It's best that you set your limits where appropriate for your mount and telescope. The defaults are good for most, but with RA EXT they may be too conservative. And your OTA might be long

Re: G11 compass recommendation
Hi Tim, There is a better way to polar align your mount during the daytime than by using a compass. First, the mount needs to be aligned to true north and the difference between magnetic north and

Re: Using Flats
I'm inclined to agree with Paul...you could have mis-labelled a Flat file as a Dark and get dust mote shadows improperly subtracted from (or divided by) your Light images. But it could also be an

Re: Gemini 1 just gone haywire
Brendan, Thankyou for the swift response. This issue started in early October after the scope had not been used for months. Works fine initially and then goes haywire after an increasingly short time.

Using Flats
Perhaps wrong group to post this to, but I assume most people here image the sky. When ever I use darks I always, without fail, get ugly dark spots in my calibrated images. I use Darks, Flats, Bias,
