Re: The Lagoon
I guess I never realized that when you get to dark-enough skies, you can almost make out what appears to be three faces looking down on you. ;-)

So, long distance tracking, and leave out the meridian flip, Please.
So I had another fun night with my GM811G.
I wanted to try something out, and it turned into a lot of things over the night.

Re: Gemini 2 Unable to Connect Telescope via Direct Ethernet
Hi again,
Just an afterthought,
If the desktop pc is new, (and under warranty) perhaps a service ticket with Dell, may be effective. After all, you would think that they should know more than anyone

Re: Gemini 2 Unable to Connect Telescope via Direct Ethernet
Hi Ron,
Glad to hear the laptop is working.
On the desktop front, I am no security or even networking expert, but I have not found any "TAP" interface on any of my PC's, and I have quite a few.
After

cell change in Gemini 1
First let me update readers with myself. I have a Losmandy G11 base with an older Gemini 1 Level 4 version 1.05 computer and have been using it for several years quite successfully. The G11 is firmly

Re: Gemini 2 Unable to Connect Telescope via Direct Ethernet
If one uses a straight through cable (normal ethernet type) to connect two devices, pin 1 on one device will be connected to pin 1 on the other. Pin 2 to pin 2 on the other. Pin 3 to pin 3, etc.

Thanks Brian. Yes me too I tend to do that on my long FL shots trying to get the maximum amount of details. On widefields I try to get the focus as accurate and dither a lot. PixInsight drizzle

This is strange. Direct ethernet works for me without any issue. It is actually more reliable than connecting through a router. I now have it working with two different computers - my laptop which

Marc that's a really wonderful target, well done. it's often easy to over-do the colors and saturation (i'm guilty of that plenty of times) and you've managed to get it nicely rendered

Re: Gemini 2 Unable to Connect Telescope via Direct Ethernet
Hi Ron,
The settings look OK to me, maybe Brian will spot something I didn't. Can you try plugging Gemini and your PC into a network switch or a (micro) router, instead of directly into each other?
