Re: New G11 + ASIair guiding issues

Thanks for the reply, Chip.

Losmandy sent me a PDF on how to collect a "baseline," which is something I was unfamiliar with. Tonight I took a shot at getting that done and I do not quite know how to analyze PHD logs as yet, so I am going to wait a few days for better seeing, then do this again. Then, pop a ZWO AM5N I have that I used recently to learn about Nina and basic PHD2 use and got very good results with. Same optics and cameras. Even the same tripod. I came up with a way to mount ZWO's pier on that beefy tripod.
?
This should help me understand what I am chasing here. I'm sure when Losmandy looks at the logs they will be able to help. I still think the mount is misbehaving in some way or other, but it will take time figure this out. Without and what PHD and the polar alignment methods I used believe is pretty good, it wandered a lot, but I don't know if this is seeing or the mount yet.
?
I get a little resentful because I'd rather be shooting photos, but honestly, chasing this sort of thing is a LOT of fun. Each thing I go to learn helps me understand more about this wonderful stuff and eventually I'll get what I want out of it.
