In the picture 4 side RS232 jack it looks like there may be corrosion on contacts inside the jack. This is a very common problem with these jacks, especially if there has been any moisture exposure. Try a spray contact cleaner that's safe for plastics while connecting and disconnecting the cable multiple times to clean the contacts.??
