Brendan,

I greatly appreciate your advice and recommendation. Unfortunately, Spain is not too near from the USA, so I prefer to try to resolve the problem in my city. If this is not possible I will contact you. Following your note, the remote Go-To doesn't work? for RS-232 damaged and/or problems in the electronic circuit. Perhaps I didn't mention that Losmandy works fine without a PC, with the Hand Deluxe. I could guess, but please confirm these acronyms:

-IC: Internal Circuit?

-PCB:? ?printed circuit board?

- SMD IC : Microchip?

?Very thanks,

Hi Luis?

Unfortunately David is in the middle of a move but you may be able to get a local tv repairer to check the socket and or replace the IC.? I¡¯m assuming it¡¯s an RS232. IC problem, it can be other things like CPU. ?

If you want you can send your PCB for repair to one of the other repairers Myself or Michael Herman. See contact .? Yes it¡¯s a long way to ship but we have parts and equipment on hand and have done this IC many times ?

if you are ok with electronics I can assist you more in using a multimeter to check the socket to RS232 IC lines and other things. ? But unless you are competent at SMD IC replacements ¡this IC can be difficult to remove and replace as the PCB traces are easily damaged.? From the RS232 socket, pin 1 (upper pin towards top of case) in not connected.? Pin 2; next one down is Ground; Pin 3 goes to U6 pin 8 (R1 in); Socket pin 4 goes to U6 Pin13 (T1 out).? USe an ohm meter to check these lines.

I also saw you have ¡°X14¡± ?fuss F2 ? These do go bad and must be replaced as soon as you can as they can cause HC and system shutdowns etc ?Again easy enough to do and repairers have new version of these.? See Gemini FAQs#13 . ?

Gemini 1 FAQs #11 akso has some tricks to try in testing RS232, .?? Again happy to help over the forum via messaging you you are confident yourself.? But as said this IC, U6.?

Cheers? FWIW
