A mixture of MP-50 with the Mobilgrease 28 seems like it would deliver a range of good lubrication properties, with both MoS2 and the anti-wear additives of the latter. Using the blend on the ring and worms should prove a good idea, though I haven't tried yet myself.

FWIW, before I bought the MP-50, I used CRC to relube the DEC gears.? I found it to be surprisingly good at reducing friction.? To the point that I no longer had excessive friction with the backoff screw backed out.? However, this does not seem to have lasted as the friction is now about the same it was with the factory grease with the backoff screw loose.? A very uncontrolled experiment, but.....

I did notice that I could smell the CRC in the garage for several weeks after lubing the DEC axis.? I no longer smell it so clearly some volatiles were evaporating.... and changing the characteristics of the grease?

After lubing with MP-50 / Mobilgrease 28, the RA gears seem to have about the same friction with the backoff screw backed out that they had with the factory grease (assumed 100% MP-50).

So, if I use your recommended 50/50 mixture of MOP-50 and Mobilgrease 28, I am putting 75% grease and only 25% moly in the gears, right?? Is this sufficient?
