Re: CAT Control
Mark and Michael, Thanks very much for the replies. Michael, your explanation was what I needed. Thanks! I did figure out that the blue covered interface is the FT-232, and black is PL-2303. It¡¯s in

Re: CAT Control
Yes Alan, as Michael explained - it works fine I've used it on the Mac with a the home made digital audio cable for FT8/WSJT

Re: CAT Control
Hi Alan, So the USB cable that has the blue end, that plugs into the CAT jack on the TX-500, is a USB to Serial cable. To do that it has a small circuit board inside the blue cover. This circuit board

CAT Control
Has anyone successfully used the usb cable (blue connector) that comes with the radio for cat control? ?I don¡¯t see why it wouldn¡¯t work, but I can¡¯t seem to be able to. ?If this doesn¡¯t

Re: Single-ended audio output (MIC/SP)?

Re: Single-ended audio output (MIC/SP)?
Thank you, Yvon. I think AC output voltage for single ended use of BTL design will be 50% of BTL connection (instead of Bias+V - Bias-V = 2V, now Bias+V - Bias = V), therefore total AC power of single

Re: Single-ended audio output (MIC/SP)?
Dave, you could connect one of the speaker output through a 470uF capacitor to one end of the speaker and the other end of the speaker to ground. You will have half of the audio power output and maybe

Re: Single-ended audio output (MIC/SP)?
Thank you, Yvon. I have no experience with Omega 900, but I have designed two audio output amplifiers that included option for this kind of output interface (or other option, single ended.) I agree it

Re: Single-ended audio output (MIC/SP)?
Dave, I also have an Omega 900 that has the same problem, The reason is, and I assume it is the same for the TX-500, the audio amplifier is an integrated audio amplifier IC that has a balanced output.

Bill, It is a little precarious. The TX-500 fold-out feet catch on the rough surface of the upside down Pelican case. The TX-500 bottom edge sits on the Pelican case handle. The slight tension on the
