Re: Headset option
Definitely would like something as rugged as the radio. I¡¯d love wired ear buds with built in mic for size too. Like what they used to send with cell phones. Trying to find a good SOTA option Nick

Re: Lab 599 TX-500PRO
One example that I can think of right away is aviation in Papua New Guinea. ATC there requires constant contact with all the airplanes flying there, despite the country¡¯s lack of infrastructure. So

Re: Lab 599 TX-500PRO
My mil radio buddies and I have been saying this for a long time, and it's encouraging to see the US military for one taking a fresh look at HF as a supplement and complement to other means of

Re: Lab 599 TX-500PRO
Starlink is just as reliable as the internet. Now, let that soak in for a minute or so. To be sure in a time of need, stand alone communication is a must. I'm not saying starlink or internet shouldn't

Re: Lab 599 TX-500PRO
Bob, You've made valid points. However Starlink requires special expensive equipment and subscription fees. To me it's about backup comms. What happens if Starlink is taken offline on purpose, or due

Re: Lab 599 TX-500PRO
I'm really curious what these "professional applications" might be, since in so many parts of the world the use of HF radio for off-grid communications has been replaced by satphones or portable

Re: Lab 599 TX-500PRO
Does the PRO say anything about including a battery pack? It looks like the PRO and regular are the same price? I thought I read that someone said the PRO includes a bat pack? The PRO description

Re: New Firmware v1.16.06
Try entering the frequency in Hz (7 digits with no decimal). Alternatively, download from the radio, save the file, then edit and upload again.

Care to share the file for CB channels you made ... it might be a great way to test things and get started with this new software. TIA *if* you choose to share. es vy 73 de "baab" w9ya

Re: New Firmware v1.16.06
Stephan and all, I re-downloaded and re-installed the firmware and now the memory editor is working as it should. Never had a problem with firmware downloads. However, I am going to guess that since I

Re: Lab 599 TX-500PRO
I guess the main target of this PRO version are commercial applications with a simplified channel-mode UI and the included battery pack. Not interesting for the typical ham, at least not for me. 73

Re: New Firmware v1.16.06
Hi Pete, The resolution of the frequency field is in Hz, but not a fraction thereof (see the column header). I have no idea why you get?TRX NOT RESPONDING. Mine worked perfectly from the beginning.

Re: New Firmware v1.16.06
Tim's note here led me to discover that you cannot enter periods into the memory editor. You also must enter 8 digits. For example: I entered 10116000 in the editor, chose channel 2, CW and Pre then
