I'm really curious what these "professional applications" might be, since in so many parts of the world the use of HF radio for off-grid communications has been replaced by satphones or portable satellite radios.?? Just last week I heard about a sea rescue being discussed on the Maritime Net? so I googled to find out more details.? It turned out the incident was reported and help dispatched via Starlink, not HF radio.
Over the years some very cool portable HF radios were made by companies such as Spilsbury and Tyndall, JRC, SGC and others when the only way to communicate back to a base camp or call for help was via HF.? They would have loved something with the performance and features of the TX-500PRO!?? But who does that today?
