Re: TX-500 switches from DIG to USB when TX
Strange that it does not show TS-2000 considering that they have the docs for it: https://support.hamradiodeluxe.com/support/solutions/articles/51000052576-information-on-specific-radios Maybe worth

Re: TX-500 switches from DIG to USB when TX
Further Information: The system works fine with just WSJT-X, the DigiRig 1.6 and the TX500. My issue appears to be that when I use HRD to connect to the TX-500 through the DigiRig 1.6 and have WSJT-X

Re: TX-500 switches from DIG to USB when TX
Im using tx-500 directly with wsjtx and it definitely does not set the mode to usb when pressing tune button, so for that issue i would look deeper into HRD. Maybe try using TS-2000 instead of

Re: TX-500 switches from DIG to USB when TX
Make sure the rig is in DIG mode, make sure WSJT IS SET to PKTS/DATA try NONE as spirit mode ( fake it is ideal) check the the rig is not in split mode itself - WSJT will not change that one if I

Hello folks, I am setting up my TX500 and DIGIRIG 1.6 for the first time.? TX500 is at Version 1.12.08. I am also using Ham Radio Deluxe between the TX-500 and WSJT so that I get automatic logging to

Re: Coax Cabling for the TX-500
I always carry rg316 with me. You can run the DB loss calcs, there will be some, more with longer runs. I did a POTA activation last week on a TX500 at 10w SSB with a Tufteln Antenna and 15' of RG316.

Re: Coax Cabling for the TX-500
Agree - between those 2, it's a toss up if transport is not an issue, RG58 is significantly better if nothing is contraindicated- LMR400 is better even i use RG58 and it's great, I've gotten 19,000km

Re: Coax Cabling for the TX-500
Marc, I see that RG316 is slightly better than RG174 but, regardless, the difference over a 30m run is a fraction of a dB at HF frequencies where the TX500 operates. 73 de M3KXZ

hro was taking advance payments for guaranteed delivery before they got more; I fortunately purchased one from them on a recent shipment they received. I see one website is offering a $3k "package

Not sure why my other message wasn't accepted, but I too got the same response and to go through their distributor. I was able to confirm HRO is still their distributor. When I called them, the fella

Re: Coax Cabling for the TX-500
My style when operating portable is to carry my station on my back.? I don't necessarily hike far, but I do like to keep the weight down.? I have used both RG58 and RG316, and have never felt that

Re: Coax Cabling for the TX-500
i use 316 and 174 for ground mount antenna or endfeds, but runs less than 25'... otherwise, my loops use rg58 at 6-10 feet works for me

Re: Coax Cabling for the TX-500
There are many attenuation charts available to compare losses per type of coax per 100ft/30m what I see is 316 is the worst of ?RG58,LMR400, RG174 at ham frequencies I use 25' of RG58 for portable

Re: Coax Cabling for the TX-500
I find RG174 has losses like a run of wet string. Plus RG316 looks just the biz :-)

Re: Coax Cabling for the TX-500
I only operate portable and use both RG316 and RG58. Can't stand RG174 as it knots too easily rather than coiling up nicely. 73 de M3KXZ
