With the BP-500 installed I was not able to load the latest firmware file.? The BP-500 would power off while the TX-500 was waiting for or even just starting to upload the firmware. I suspect the BP-500 was not receiving data to know the TX-500 was powered on and to stay in the power delivery mode.? Removed the BP-500 and used DC In on the TX-500 was successful during the firmware update process.
Also I just verified that the rumored Kenwood TS-2000-based protocol changes are not yet included.? With TX-500 in DIG mode which can be set with "MD6;" command), it still responds to "MD;" query with "MD2;" (USB mode)
