Hello Group:
I have placed two bids on the photo album and I have been outbid both times by a person using the name Doliwa1. Is this anyone known to the group? The bidding is now at $52. I will pitch in my contribution and bid $60 tomorrow. Do you want to pursue it higher if it is necessary? The bidding is open for another 44 hrs. I suppose an alternative is to approach Doliwa1 after the bidding to see if it can be acquired or if we can get scans of the photos.

Don't recognise the name. ?There must be some connection to Tengeru for Doliwa1. ?Is it possible to contact them somehow?

It is possible, though not right, that Doliwa1 is another name for the seller, who is artificially trying to increase the price of the album??? it is not unheard of in Ebay unfortunately.

I just wanted to add that at $75, it has met reserve, so now the race is on.
If you really want this, even though it doesn't pertain to my father, I will also donate $10.00 if someone from the group wins. Just give me your address at the end of the auction.

As a virtual-digital group, perhaps we should make sure we purchase it, scan it, put it on the website gallery, and then resell it to Doliwal directly or put it back on eBay.... (unless CG or another member wants to hang on to the physical artefact after scanning...)

I will also donate 10.00 even though I have no relatives in that area but we do have fellow Poles. We need to make sure we win this bid and any future bids on other material in the future. This album will help to tell and complete our stories.

Stefan If this person Doliwa is in Australia, perhaps you can find a way to contact him directly. Is it possible that he might be a survivor or family member that is not a member of our group? It would not appear to be in either of our interests to bid up the price. I perhaps some accomodation can be made whereby both parties get satisfaction after the bidding is complete. Please try to make contact with Doliwa. I will wait till about 1-2 hrs before the bidding closes and I will make one more bid unless I hear from you. I hope you can get in touch first as I think it may be the best for us both. Chris Gorski

Chris I agree with your thoughts but I have not been able to find DOLIWA on the web and I do not know how to do so via eBay. If you agree with the strategy of buying, scanning, and reselling, that minimises our price sensitivity. Of course this assumes that we do not want to hold the physical artefact. Do you? Stefan

Congratulations Mark looks like we have an album. If you wish I can still collect it and scan it for the group. I think it is Central Massachusetts and not too far from where I live. Perhaps we can also find out a bit about it's original owner and history to go along with the images. We also need an address or some way to get you our contributions. Stefan, I think the original artifact may be more appropriately stored in some central location rather than just with one individual. Perhaps we should consider some public archives like the Sikorski museum in London. Chris Gorski
